Lady Voluptuous: Maria - You Gotta See Her

If you're a reader of my blog then you'll know that I am a big fan of Lady V London and their plus size range Lady Voluptuous. This weekend I attended a wedding in Chester and so of course for a few weeks before I saw searching the internet for something appropriate to wear.

Plus size wedding guest outfits aren't always easy to come by and I knew I wanted something beautiful and unusual, so I knew I had my work cut out for me. Then Lady Voluptuous announced their Spring/Summer release of dresses and I knew I'd be able to find something.

In case you don't know the Lady Voluptuous range of dresses are all vintage dresses designed by Georgina from Fuller Figure Fuller Bust - all go up to a size 32.

So far from the Lady Voluptuous range I have the Estella, Ursula, Marilyn, Medusa, Bellatrix, Phoebe (in two prints) and now the Maria - I love them all for different reasons.

I chose the Maria because of the unusual pattern. I loved the idea of owning a mustard dress (I think she is my first) and the purple roses finished it off perfectly. I really like the neckline and the length of the dress too.  She comes complete with a belt that ties around the back to pull in the dress around the middle, which is a shape I really like.

There are still a couple of Lady Voluptuous dresses that I'd like to get but I have yet to decide what my next purchase will be!

One thing I wanted to touch upon is the fact that when you buy a dress, you'll probably never look like the model on the website. There are lots of people who worry about this and I wanted to tell you to STOP! It's OK not to look like the girl the website, because you look perfectly exactly as you are!

Which Lady Voluptuous dress is your favourite?

The Ultimate Lazy Bank Holiday

If you saw any of my social media yesterday you'll see that I attended a wedding yesterday. The whole day was amazing - the wedding was beautiful and seeing so many old faces was great! Thursday and Friday I spent in London as well, so it's fair to see I am pretty tired! Thankfully I am off work until Tuesday so I have plenty of time to recover.

The sun is shining today, so I didn't want to spend the whole day in bed  - even though the temptation was there. So this morning I popped out to the shops, got some lovely food in, got home and did some housework and now I am chilling in my living room with all the windows open - is there anything nicer?

Now that all of that is done, I intend to do nothing else for the whole day! Instead I am messing about on social media, sharing some photos from the wedding and of course, catching up on the Britain’s Got Talent final.

As afternoons like this often do, it's led me to window shopping online and making list of items I need to buy when I get paid. One of the things I have been looking at is microwaves by Panasonic because I'm really in need of a new one.

I don't use my actual cooker all that much - instead doing most of what I need in my microwave and/or George Foreman grill. Safe to say all of the food I bought earlier is microwave friendly - because I do intend to make the rest of my bank holiday a lazy one!

There’s a few bank holiday sales on too so chances are I’ll be windowing shopping Lady V London and Scarlett & Jo later on today – though I do need to try and not buy too much!

How are you spending your weekend?

Keep Your Curves and Stay Fit Without Stepping Foot Inside a Gym

Keep Your Curves and Stay Fit Without Stepping Foot Inside a Gym

I am sure by now you guys know that I am a fatty who is more than comfortable with how she looks. However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t like to try and be active. I tried the gym once and realised quickly that it wasn’t for me – however if you like to go to the gym that’s OK too! I prefer to stay active in otherways – once that are less costly for a start!

Do you know what people do when they go to the gym and step on a treadmill? Walk. The idea bemuses me. Why you would go to an indoor place to walk. None the less, people do it in droves. Me, however, I prefer to walk outdoors. And outdoor walking has made such an improvement to my life that I can’t praise it enough. Whether I am walking around the block or talking a walk down the prom, the fresh air and cardio activity have a great impact on my physical and mental health.

If you think that a plus sized girl can’t do yoga, I am here to tell you otherwise.  I know lots of friends that take part in plus size yog and really, really enjoy it. I thought I would see what was available in plus sizes and I was surprised at the selection available! I headed to the Groupon page for JD Sports and could see lots that would suit many of you! I can imagine a yoga class being as fun and friendly as the plus size dance class of Ashleighs that I attended a few months back, so I really need to try one!

Incidental Exercise

This is a trick that I actually picked up from one of my yoga friends - incidental exercise. She was telling me that the time I climbed the stairs at home or walked to the printer at work all counted as small forms of exercise. The trick, she taught me, was to make the most of them. Now, when I walk up the stairs to go to bed, I take two steps up, one down, then three steps up. A small increase in the amount of steps I walk makes a difference. When I need something from the printer at work, I choose to go the long way and add a few extra steps to the count. I quickly learned that small instances like this all added up!

If you like to stay active but can’t stand the gym, these are great ways for you to keep your body and mind active without the need for a gym membership!

Exciting New Discoveries Online

Today is my day off work - YAY!  I love mid-week days off but because most of my friends are at work I generally have no one to hang out with - boooo! That means the day because one of those catch up days, where you do all of the boring stuff you've been meaning to do around the house but never get around to.

Before I got around to that today I sat and watched This Morning and started exploring the internet. You know those days where you click from site to site, easily distracted by adverts and links - exploring new things and discovering new ideas! I thought I would share a little bit about what I discovered today!

Cheese Posties

I don't know about you, but I love a cheese toastie. On TV today they were talking about subscription boxes and they bought up Cheese Posties. On this website you sign up for a weekly delivery of a cheese toastie. You get a box filled with everything you need to create the perfect cheese toastie - but they go above and beyond the usual cheese and ham offering so many of us are used to. I will definitely be signing up and trying one - it's so exciting!

Simply e-Liquid

A friend at work is trying to quit smoking and asked if I could find her somewhere to buy e-liquids. Today I came across an e-liquid online store which looks perfect for her. She gets easily bored so I like that Simply e-Liquid have loads of flavours for her to choose from, this means that she can buy a few at a time and make sure that she always has something new to try and keep her interested - great news!

Mr & Mrs Smith

Some friends of mine are getting married and instead of a gift have asked for money towards a honeymoon. They have made it nice and easy by signing up to The Smith Collections, so people can sign up and leave a message to wish them luck in their new life - what a cute idea!

Now, off to decide which Lady V London dress I want to wear to the wedding!!

Hope you're having a good Tuesday!

Using The Internet To Bag a Bargain

I'm not going to lie, I love a bargain. I really love knowing that I have got something for a cut price or that I have managed to save some money somewhere. In fact when it comes to saving money I constantly use the internet to my advantage. I often share money saving tips, use voucher codes and buy from cut price websites - purely so I can save myself a bit more cash, which of course I use to fill my already ample wardrobe.

Being A Savvy Shopper

One of the things I like using the internet for is shopping savvy. There are loads of was to save money and the internet makes this easier than ever to do. For example I know that bloggers will generally share any voucher codes that they come across. This can often be 10% off, free delivery or a combination of the two. This is a great way to save money on items you're already planning to buy. Second hand shopping online has always works well for me in the past too. There are several Facebook selling groups and of course you can always turn to trusty eBay to look for a bargain too. Bloggers often list their old items for sale on their various social media websites too.

Grab a Freebie

Recently I discovered WOWFreeStuff, which I am really enjoying. I didn't realise but there are loads of companies that offer out freebies every single day. These are often household brand names that just want to reach new potential customers or get feedback on new items that they are offering. This is something's trial sized items but can be full size too. There is always a range of items on offer and I found that the website was one of the best at keeping me up to date with what was available.

Shopping Around

Whatever you are buying, the chances are that there are other companies offering the same items with different price tags. Before the internet you would have had to visit different stories to compare prices and work out how to get the same item at the lowest price. Thanks to the internet now doing this is easier than ever. There are even websites that compare prices for you to make life even easier. Even without this though you can simply use the likes of Google to search for different places that have the item on sale and compare the price.

Window shopping online is certainly much easier than visiting different stores to try and compare what is on sale. The internet is great for many things but one of the best for me is the ease of shopping. I love being able to shop online and get items shipped direct to my door. It makes life nice and easy and if there is one thing I love, it's an easy life!

What do you use the internet for? Keep it clean ;)

A Bit More About Vaping

I wrote a post the other day about vaping and it had quite a response, so when I was invited to share some more facts with you I jumped at the chance. As most of you will know I am not a smoking, but I do know lots of people who have benefited from vaping when it comes to giving up the habit.

Of course as with anything else I feel like smoking is a personal decision for you and your body. If you’re happy being a smoker then that’s great but I think it’s really good to have tools available to you if you do want to kick it – because from what I hear it’s not always easy!

Lots of the facts in this infographic gave me food for thought but I still feel as though it is something that is personal and as long as you are making decisions for YOU and YOUR body that is all that matters.

Vaping Saved My Life – Electric Tobacconist Infographic UK
I spoke to some friends who vape about their experiences and they told me that it really did help them give up. A couple of them had tried to quit smoking before but had found it tough and had fallen off the band wagon at various stages. They said that using electronic cigarettes had helped them to break the habit of smoking which is often the hardest part. It’s like anything – we quickly get used to something so when we can’t do it, we crave it. So smokers who stop tend to miss their cigarettes at times when they are used to having one – their early morning one or the one they have on their lunch break. When you vape you can still keep up the habit of smoking which from what I am told makes life much easier.

What most of my friends loved about vaping was the fact that there are so many different flavours to choose from. I even found out that you can mix your own e-juices as described here: This is great because it means that whatever you’re into you can be sure that there is something out there for everyone.

However the biggest benefits my friends talked about was how much money they saved. We all know that the cost of cigarettes is always on the rise, so it really isn’t a cheap habit to keep up. One of my friends put all of the money they would usually spend on smoking in a tin and treated themselves to a holiday a year after they had quit. They probably wouldn’t say it was all down to vaping (it takes will power and motivation too) but without a doubt it’s something that has helped them and in my eyes that can only be a good thing!

Have you made any changes to your life that you’re proud of? Mine was to try and keep a more regular sleeping pattern and I have definitely made improvements over the last few months – yay!
