Topsy Curvy For The Perfect Summer Jacket

I won't lie to you, I am not the biggest fan of winterwear at all. In fact if you looked in my wardrobe you would notice a significant lack of anything remotely sensible to wear when the weather is colder - which is probably why I am not a fan of the winter months in general.

I know that there are lots of people who get excited about layering and wearing snuggable clothing, but that doesn't float my boat at all - I want to be able to throw a dress and leggings on and leave the house without having to worry.

You would think that July is the perfect time of year to do this - we should be in the full throws of summer by now, but we're really not! Now I am throwing on a dress and leggings and then wondering what the weather will do for the rest of the day before I leave the house.

I noticed this jacket on the Topsy Curvy Facebook page and thought it was lovely. I was even more excited when they announced that it went up to a size 32!

The jacket was in my hands a few days later and I fell in love. I'm not exaggerating when I say I take this jacket out with me nearly every day - it's perfect! It's nice and lightweight when means on a warm day it's not too much,  but if I get caught in a rainstorm on the way home from work it offers a little protection!

Size wise it's brilliant! I really admire Topsy Curvy who are without a doubt one of my favourite smaller independent brands. I know that they are keen to introduce bigger sizes to their range and are always pushing their suppliers to do more - which this jacket is proof of!

They have loads of different jackets to choose from too!

Both dresses will feature in future blog posts - one is from Simply Be and one is from CowCow

Have you bought from Topsy Curvy? What did you buy?

The British Plus Size Awards 2016

Last week I found out that I was nominated for a British Plus Size Award again, and I am over the moon. You might remember that last year I was lucky enough to win Best Achievement at the awards - which was the most amazing feeling! This is the 3rd year running that I have been fortunate enough to be nominated for the Best Blogger award - YAY!

I have to say that attending the awards is always the most amazing night. It's one night on my social calendar where I get dressed up super glamorous and enjoy a wonderful 3 course meal. I do have quite a busy social life but this is a fantastic night of being all dressed up, feeling super glam - it's amazing!

Of course, when you combine that with hanging out some amazing blogger babes AND celebrating all aspects of the plus size industry it really does add up to an awesome night!

It goes without saying that I would love your vote for the awards but also if you can, I would love for you to attend. It's an amazingly uplifting night and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

You can vote for me here and find out more about attending the London event in November here

I am really, REALLY excited to say that I am being sponsored by the lovely team over at Lady Voluptuous for the event. Last year I wore their BEAUTIFUL Lyra dress and I can't wait to show you what I am wearing this year!

Hopefully see you there!

Catch The Bus: The Perfect Time To Catch Up On Life

This week I was invited by Stagecoach to talk about their Catch The Bus Week  - which is designed to show people what they could be doing during their commute if they weren't driving.

I jumped at the chance because I get the bus to and from work everyday and my local bus company happens to be Stagecoach.

I'll be honest, I am not a driver which is why you're probably used to seeing my train journey rants on Twitter - I don't seem to have much luck with train travel at all!

I would love to say that I use my bus travel time overly productively but to be honest with you, I use it to catch up on social media. That said, my 45 minute journey to work is nice and relaxing while I catch up on Snapchat and pop outfit photos up on Instagram. I even use the wifi on their bus so I don't use my mobile data  win/win!

Not going to lie, but you  have probably seen the odd #busselfie on my Instagram and Twitter too - sometimes the sunlight is so good that I just can't resist!

In the last few months we have even been given plastic swipes so for weekly tickets I don't even have to use a paper ticket. I even try and be organised and top up my card online! The good thing about bus pass prices is that Stagecoach do a weekly ticket, which works out perfectly for me!

My journey to work goes right up the promenade so I even share the odd snap like this to make everyone jealous ;)

Do you get public transport to get to work? Spend your time productively?

P.S   Tweet and let them know what you do while you're on the bus, use #ctbw and you could be £100 vouchers!
