What this means is that I go on lots of road trips and I love them! As a non-driver I often actually go on train trips, is that such a thing? Anyway, that's what I do - and I love a cheeky weekend away! Minibus hire, getting friends to drive, taking the train - I've done them all!
Next weekend I am off to Blackpool for 3 nights and although Blackpool might not seem the most glamorous location for a weekend away I'm really looking forward to it! In fact, its lack of glamour is why my friends and I get together once a year and go there - we love it!
I will be getting the train there though, so I don't have to do much in the way of preparing for the journey, just making sure that I get to New Street Station on time! I always try to anyway, so I can grab a drink and a magazine for the trip, so that should be easy enough!
Taking a Road Trip
That said, I do have a really fun road trip planned this year, but it isn't in November! I'll be attending the 2nd Club Indulge Weekender event in Bournemouth! A friend of mine kindly drives me and Lucia (www.ucantwearthat.com) down for the weekend - last year was so much fun, so we're already booked to attend this year! There is so much that the weekend offers, I would recommend looking it up if you haven't been to one before!
Of course, as our friend is the one in charge of the car, he'll be the one heading to Kwik Fit beforehand to have the car checked over, which is really important for a long journey! Much like my trip to Blackpool this weekend, all Lucia and I have to do is turn up on time, which considering our friend is always the one who is late, should not be too difficult!
I always find it fun to see what service station we end up at and what they offer, last time we ended up visiting the same ones on the way there and the way back, so this year we have already agreed that we're going to mix things up a bit! I wonder what we'll discover with this years trip? If you have me on Instagram or Twitter, you'll probably find out!
I'll definitely have a summer road trip somewhere, once the weather is better, although I am starting to wonder whether the UK is going to be covered in snow forever!
Where are you heading off to this summer?
