ASOS Main Range - Here's What I Would Have Spent

Every so often a group of bloggers and I get together to put some Here's What I Would Have Spent posts. The idea is to let retailers know that we would happily spend our hard earned cash on their clothing, if only they stocked our size!

I love the ASOS Curve range and it is probably one of my most popular 'go to' places when it comes to clothes shopping. However, I also lust after many items in their straight size ranges they don't extend to plus sizes - and so, the idea for this round of Here's What I Would Have Spent was born!

Skirts

Dresses

To be honest, there are so many other choices I could make from the ASOS website. They have such variety and I would love to see many more items in plus sizes too!

What do you love from ASOS?

Christmas Day With Scarlett & Jo and ASOS Curve

How was your Christmas? I hope you all had a brilliant one, I did!

Christmas in my household is always quite a quiet affair, but that's just the way we like it! It's been a lovely few days at home and now I am looking forward to travelling to Stafford for New Years with lots of friends!

Even though Christmas is reasonably quiet I love to get dressed up! Everyone in my house loves Christmas so we all get dressed up, have an epic dinner and spend the evening playing board games. I honestly can't think of a way I would rather spend the day.

Just before Christmas Scarlett & Jo sent me one of their newest dresses and I thought it would be perfect for Christmas. I love the blue colours in the kimono and knew it would be perfect to dress up with a bit of bling.

The Scarlett & Jo Multicoloured Floral Kimono With Black Dress is quite a grown up dress, but it;s lovely and I feel could be dressed in lots of different ways. The black dress underneath fits well too!

As it was on the day I felt that a plain black dress underneath was a bit plain, so I actually teamed up the kimono with a black dress I picked up in the ASOS Curve sale a few days before. The dress itself is lovely but I wanted to dress it up a bit for Christmas - after all, if you can't dress up at Christmas when can you?

One of the best things about the kimono dress from Scarlett & Jo is that although the kimono is attached, it is done so by poppers. This means that you can remove it and mix and match items. I love versatile pieces like this, so it's a definite plus point for me!

What did you get up to this Christmas?

I was lucky enough to be gifted some items in this post and I am very grateful, but I am always open and honest in my reviews!

ASOS Lace Skirt - Two's Company

A few weeks ago this skirt popped up on ASOS at a price of just £13 - how was I supposed to resist this?

I wore this for dinner and drinks out on Sunday afternoon in London, after a heavy night out in London the night before (School disco party at Club Indulge was never going to be pretty). I teamed it up with a plain black cami top (also from ASOS), a grey kimono (New Look) and a pink heart shaped bag (from New Look).

It was a bit windy when I took the pics so you'll have to excuse the windswept look, but it gives you an idea of just how pretty the skirt is! It is a little outside of my comfort zone of what I would usually buy but I am really glad that I bought it - it's so pretty!

Dinner at Grill Shack and Yates cocktails - no better way to spend a hungover Sunday afternoon!

Lucia from U Can't Wear That bought the skirt too!

As you can see she looks brill in it - read her review here

Happy Birthday To Me!

While I was in London I celebrated my birthday by having dinner with friends in Wahaca in Angel - which was amazing and lovely!

I wore an ASOS dress which has fast become one of my favourites. Unfortunately I was too busy having a good time and drinking passion fruit mojiotos to take any proper outfit pictures, but here are a couple I took of the night and a quick, cheeky bathroom selfie so you can see a bit of the dress.

It is the same dress I blogged here, except it is in a different pattern. I love the dress & the fit though, I really can't recommend it enough!

In other news I have been using a hair treatment on my hair and it's really improved the condition of it. The lovely team over at Old Wives Tail sent it to me a few weeks ago and I really love the conditioner makes my hair feel. I have to admit to being quite lazy when it comes to hair products etc. so I never want to use anything that is too fiddly.

I've been putting their Argan & Rosemary Organic Oil Treatment on wet hair and then washing it out an hour or so later. It is quite tricky to wash out because it's oil based but it's well worth it for the shine and feel of my hair afterwards. They actually stock a range of products for hair, so it's worth seeing what they have to suit you. I was lucky enough to be gifted the item (but my opinion is still honest) but their prices seem pretty reasonable anyway!

As Seen On Someone - A Look at ASOS Curve

I don't know if it is just me, but I really feel like ASOS Curve is killing it at the moment. What I like about browsing the range of clothes at ASOS Curve is that it always feels like there is a selection of outfit types... like they're a plus size retailer that actually recognises people like different things. From skater and swing dresses to over sized t shirts and bodycon dresses there is all sorts!

I have bought a few items from ASOS over the last few weeks, some of which I haven't worn yet and some of which I just haven't photographed yet. New additions to my own personal ASOS Curve collection include

I love a bit of floral and I think that ASOS do these patterns so well!

I am off to London this weekend and all of these items are in my suitcase, so I will finally have some photos to show you. In the mean time - here's some amazing bloggers looking great in their ASOS outfits for my As Seen on Someone feature (clever eh?)

Hannah from fhttp://fabulouslyfatfashion.com/ looking brill in her ASOS jeans

Miss Kathryn from MissKathrynsMistakes in a beautiful sunflower dress (I regret not buying this)

Mrs Bebe in looking great in ASOS jeans and shirt and some ASOS dungarees

Laura from Laura on Life in an oversize graffiti print dress from ASOS

Lucia from U Can't Wear That in a paisley print dress & a squiggle print dress

Big Fat Betty in her ASOS outfit

Leah from Just Me Leah in a lovely ASOS strapless dress

A bit of smock dress loveliness from Natty Nikki!

Last but not least, Pink Gemma

Of course, I've worn the odd bit of ASOS in the past too ;)

Have you tried ASOS yet? Did you like it?

Not So Mini Mouse

Yes... The typo is on purpose! I know, I am THAT funny!

Just a very quick post today on a lovely polka dot dress I picked up in the ASOS Sale. It's currently only £13, bargain! (It seems to be out of stock upon checking, but they have the lovely navy one for only £22! http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Curve/ASOS-CURVE-Exclusive-Skater-Dress-In-Spot-Print/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2995287&WT.ac=rec_viewed)

I love the skater dress because it is a longer length - although I have tucked it up under the belt because I wanted it to be a bit shorter for the night out I was going on. I love the versatility. Teamed it up with a black belt that I picked up at the Plus London Plus Size Market for the grand old price of 50p!

I managed to do the whole of Saturday night out sober... partying and dancing til 3am. I was quite proud of myself - Dryathlon/Cancer Research you should be too! http://www.justgiving.com/Debbie-Aiken-dryathlete

If you're looking for a dress or two for a bargain price, I really can't recommend the ASOS sale enough at the moment.

Have you bought anything?

Big Bird - My ASOS Curve Sale Bargain!

I have to admit being a fan of a sale - I mean, when you can get a dress at a bargain price - why not!? Just before Christmas ASOS announced a massive up to 50% off and I could have wept - who wants to be bargain dress shopping before Christmas?

Anyway - two dresses caught my eye and so I had to have them - which at a total of £22 for 2 dresses delivered was amazing! I got my hands on this brill bird print dress & a lovely polka dot one, which no doubt I'll write about in the future too!

I wore it out the other day teamed up with a stretchy belt, New Look Jacket, One One Three Leggings and a New Look lion necklace (which was another sale bargain at £2!)

I found the dress to be a very generous fit and I love the pattern - which is pretty but also plain, so can be dressed up in anyway you want. It's also elasticated under the bust, which helps to give it a lovely shape and be nice and flattering, for want of a better word!

What sale bargains have you snapped up?

You can grab this ASOS dress at http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Curve/ASOS-CURVE-Skater-Dress-In-Bird-Print/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3118890&SearchQuery=bird%20print&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=3&clr=Print for just £13!

Lady in Red

I have had this red dress from ASOS Curve in my wardrobe for a while, but haven't had a chance to wear it. This weekend I decided to be a lady in red for the Plus London After Dark Party and then my trip to BGP in the evening. I wore it with leggings (surpisingly I know!) and some sparkly silver shoes. I loved the fit of the top and enjoyed wearing it.

The 'lovely' necklace gets SO many comments, it's a Primark bargain and I am so glad I picked up it when I saw it a few months ago!

I don't often wear red, so it was a nice change for me - what colour do you like to wear?

Comfy Casuals

Last weekend I made the journey home to be a bridesmaid - you can see the post here. My family live in Lancashire which means that journeying home usually takes between 3-4 hours door to door so I obviously want to be comfortable when I travel.

Here's what I wore this weekend:

Dress: ASOS
Leggings: Love Ur Curves
Cardigan: Pink Clove
Boots: Primark
Belt: Yours Clothing

When you're travelling, going up and down the tube stairs and then on a packed train with a heavy suitcase you really dont want to be layered up to much because you just get too hot and bothered too quickly. This is perfect for travelling because it's comfy to wear, cosy and I can easily remove the cardigan if I get too hot!

What are your comfortable 'go to' items?

Access All ASOS - An Exciting New Adventure

A few weeks ago my flat mate sent me a link to a website called 'Access All ASOS' which invited people to apply to be an ASOS Insider. Once I read the first few paragraphs on the page, I knew I had to apply!

"Do you heart ASOS? Have you ever wanted to know what happens behind the scenes of your favourite fashion giant? Well, we have some pretty exciting news! We’re about to throw open our doors to let you see all the crazy goings on at Planet ASOS… and you can be a part of it all, too. #AccessAllASOS is an exciting new destination for our most loyal fans, where you’ll get unprecedented access to all things ASOS. As an ASOS insider, you’ll be the first to know about our new collections, inspirations and adventures. You’ll get opportunities to visit ASOS HQ in London, as well as invites to our most exciting events. You’ll be able to really get under our skin and learn how we do what we do. There might even be the odd freebie or exclusive discount…So if you’re passionate about ASOS, step right up!"

How could I resist? So, I sent about filling in my application form! I wasn't sure how successful I would be, because I assumed they would mainly be looking for people who shopped from their main ASOS range, which of course I don't. However I filled in the form telling them about my new found love for ASOS Curve, and why I am so passionate about brands just like them!

And then a few days ago - this amazing package of lovelyness arrived! I can not tell you how excited I was to be an ASOS Insider!

I have since had a nosey on the #AccessallASOS hashtag on twitter and I have to applaud ASOS. All the people who applied got different gifts, thoughtful and well matched - as well as a lovely handwritten note to welcome them to the team!

I am part of the very first bunch of ASOS Insiders, so I have no idea what the future holds - but how exciting! I think there is nothing better than a brand who listen to their customers and interact with them and it sounds like that is exactly what ASOS Insiders is all about, so I am keen to see what it brings!

Applications for 2013 are closed, but you can go on their site and apply for 2014 - how exciting!

What would you like to see brands doing more of?

OOTD: Leather Biker Jacket & ASOS Wrap Top

I know, I know - what a lovely, imaginative title - you lucky bunch! My creative juices are really flowing this morning, can you tell?

Anyway, I finally got around to wearing this lovely purple wrap dress that I got from ASOS for my birthday (thanks Gem!) and thought I should blog about it! - It's also now only £15.00 in the sale - bargain!

I teamed it with leggings (obviously!) and then to leave the house I wore my New Look biker jacket and a pretty cake scarf which I also got for my birthday!

As always I am loving my accessories - I teamed this outfit up with my new Black Heart Creatives necklace (Thanks Leighanne) and a long, heart necklace from Primark!

I am notoriously bad for wrapping up warm for winter - I hate layers and wearing too many heavy clothes so generally I don't wrap up at all! This is the first coat (jacket!) I have owned in years. That said, I do love the look and the fit of the jacket so I don't see any reason why I wouldn't carry on wearing it for winter - seeing as it's freezing already, I think we're in for a cold one!

Have you bought anything new for your winter wardrobe?

Pushing The Fatshion Boundaries Every Day!

I bet, if you look in your wardrobe it is mainly made up of the same style of clothes. Whether you like to wear mainly black, or jeans and a top is your thing your wardrobe will (in most cases) be dominated by one type of clothing. For me, it is leggings and pretty dresses - I love them! I have learned how to make them work for me and now I am running with it! (So to speak, no actual running!)

However, it shouldn't always be like that! I learnt this weekend that trying new things often means you discover new items that you like & new ways to wear clothes!

Last week I saw this dress on the ASOS Curve website

ASOS CURVE Denim Pinafore Dress In Dark Vintage Wash
Anyway, I loved the dress and I saw plenty of people on Instagram and Twitter wearing it. However as it was out of my comfort zone, I couldn't picture wearing it myself!

This weekend my friend (Lucia from U Cant Wear That) and I went out and she was wearing the dress! When we came back to my house, I demanded that she let me try the dress on!

Even though its a bad picture and even though I am wearing it OVER an existing dress I love the way it looks! So much so, that I really want to get one for myself!
The dress is here if you want it.

While out and about I also eyed up a leather jacket that I really liked the look of in New Look Inspire. I don't wear jackets... ever! I haven't owned a coat in years... I just don't like them! But this jacket jumped out at me and I really, really liked it! I tried it on and I am in love! (It's a size too small but they didn't have my size in store - I am ordering it online today!). It's here if you want it!

So - there you have it. Not only a weekend of amazing company, Mexican food, vodka and the cinema but a learning curve & two completely new style items to add to my wardrobe - good times all round!

When was the last time you pushed the boundaries with clothes that you wear?

My Weekend: Manchester, Hen Party, Cocktails, Makeovers and an Amazing ASOS Curve Dress

I spent this weekend in Manchester at the hen party weekend of my very beautiful friend Gemma :)

14 of us packed into a two bedroom apartment - yes it was chaos for a pyjama party on Friday night. Such a lovely night full of onesies, wine, pizza, silly games and some of my favourite people in the world - what more could a girl need?

On Saturday we went to the MASSIVE boots store in the town centre for makeovers. I was put on the Max Factor counter and asked by the lovely girl what I wanted. Apart from not very 'orange' foundation I basically gave her free reign to do what she wanted - to say I was happy with the results in an understatement - I loved it!

Before and After :)

For the Saturday night we went for dinner and drinks in the Printworks in Manchester.

I opted to wear this noughts and crosses from ASOS Curve which I bought a few weeks ago and hadnt had a chance to wear yet. I loved the pattern and thought it would be the perfect dress for a weekend of celebration.

I have to say - I loved the dress when I wore it, but on reflection I'm not 100% happy with the style. I think the neck comes out to wide which makes me look much broader than I am. I did love wearing the dress and its a great fit (I sized down from what I normally wear) it's just the neckline that puts me off!

I had a fabulous weekend though! What did you get up to?

Breaking Boundaries Without Breaking The Bank

Since I discovered ASOS Curve I have developed a slight obsession with their clothes. I quite literally want to be rich enough to have each of their dresses in my wardrobe - Hopefully my Euromillions ticket will do me proud tonight!

Unfortunately, ASOS Curve aren't doing much to help my addiction by announcing 'silly' sales that make me want to sell my mother (sorry mum) to buy them!

I had a little browse on the ASOS Curve 50% sale today and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had 12 different dresses, in my size all for under £15.00 each. They had loads of dresses that were slightly more too! Very impressive.

I always think when something is that cheap you can afford to try something new and be a little adventurous  I am sure lots of us are guilty of sticking to the same styles when it comes to items that we buy - I know I am! However  for less than £15 all of these dresses are ones that I probably wouldn't immediately buy, but would love to try!

Cold Shoulder Dress In Floral

I have to admit, I don't own any cold shoulder dresses or tops which is a shame really because I really like the look of them. What I like about this dress is that the bold, floral pattern is something I am used to wearing so trying something like this would not be too much out of my comfort zone. I really would love to try and cold shoulder dress and I think for £15.00 it is the perfect time to try it! You can buy this dress here.

Sundress In Star Print

I always say I don;t mind getting my arms out, but when you look through my wardrobe you'll see most items are sleeved. This star print dress caught my eye a few weeks ago and since then it has been reduced in price (to just £15!) which makes it even more desirable. 2 of my friends have the dress and it's really pretty & wears well so I am glad to see it in the sale, which tempts me to buy it (BAD ASOS!). You can buy this dress here.

Skater Dress With Ballet Wrap And Short Sleeve

I bought this dress when it was originally in the sale - though I think it has been reduced even more now! I sized down on this from my usual size and found that it fit fine. I only have one quite drunk photo of me wearing the dress, but you get the idea! The material is quite heavy which I think makes it great for the cooler weather and for £13.00 I don't think you can go far wrong! You can buy this dress here.

Bodycon Dress With Panelled Print

I need more bodycon dresses in my life and who doesn't need more pretty dresses filling up their wardrobes? I love the pattern of this dress - I don't actually own anything that is panelled so I would love to try this! (and for just £12.50 why not!). You can buy this dress here.

Do sales tempt you to try new things, or would you rather stick to what you know?
