The Rise of Plus Size Fashion

As a fan of plus size fashion and how it changes, I was really interested when House of Fraser said they'd put together a handy infographic about the history of plus size fashion.

It is easy to get caught up in what is happening now and how plus size fashion is affecting us however it was fun for me to read about what it all came from. The historical changes with clothes measurements and clothes sizes made a great read - it even features our very own Georgina Grogan!

Of course, I still believe in dressing however you want so if you don't want to dress for your shape that is OK too! House of Fraser actually have a pretty good plus size range so I am confident there will be something for everyone

What do you think about the rise of plus size fashion?

A Bit of Bling with House of Fraser

If you have seen any photos of my nights out then you will know that I love a good statement necklace. Something bright and bold always goes down well and something that I really enjoy wearing. I was browsing House of Fraser for jewellery the other day and I was pleasantly surprised at how much of their stuff was up my street.

When I looked at the jewellery section of the website I found that there was loads I would buy and loads I would buy if I had the funds. They really do have something to cater for everyone - which I suppose you would expect from somewhere like House of Fraser.

I chose this flower necklace because I love the white flowers. I think it's a piece that could be teamed up with so much and would match with nearly everything. It's quite short on me which I like, but I would also team it up with an extender to make it a bit longer with certain outfits too!

I was pleasantly surprised at the range that House of Fraser had, especially as it wouldn't usually be the first place I would look for statement jewellery. They have a sale on at the moment too, so it's a real winner!

Where do you go to first for statement jewellery?

House Of Glass - A Lifestyle Post

So, you may have noticed over the last couple of weeks I have included a bit of varied content and I am hoping that will continue!

Writing about pretty dresses is great, but I take these pretty dresses on some amazingly fun adventures so I want to share that here. I don't think they'll be too overwhelming, but I thought it would be fun to include some varied content and mix things up a bit.

The other day I was windowing shopping on the House of Fraser website as I so often do - they have great a good range of plus size clothing so I often have a browse. Anyway, as I so often do I got distracted and ended up in their home ware section. It got me thinking, if I were actually a member of royalty and not just a wannabe princess, what type of glassware would I have? If I were to bring Buckingham Palace to me - what would I have? I know... it was late, but these are the type of things I like to think about before bed!

These were my 3 faves:

Who knew that looking at glassware could be so much fun? Maybe I will take up collecting them instead of dresses.... Maybe ;) Well done House of Fraser you did good!

House of Fraser: Plus Size Saviour?

I am always pleased to hear about plus size options, so House of Fraser offering plus size clothing is fantastic news to me! Actually House of Fraser and their plus size collection is nothing new, but it seems that their offerings have really improved over recent months.

In October I had the chance to try House of Fraser for myself and I was pleasantly surprised by their offerings. I would say that they're not exactly breaking boundaries - because they're offering items that are already on sale by other brands. However, the chance to buy from a range of brands in one place is always good for me. Brands you can buy from include: Evans (including Scarlett and Jo), Taking Shape, Samya, Juna Rose and much more!

They had a good sale on when I went too - and most of you will know I am quite the bargain hunter! They also do right up to a size 30, which is another bonus.

I chose this Spotted Skater Dress from Evans

I love the fact that it is only £20 too! For me the fit is perfect and the pockets are a nice addition. Its a really nice material which makes it nice to wear in colder weather. I teamed it up with leggings but the length meant I could have easily worn it without too.

Have you bought anything from the House of Fraser Plus Size Collection?

New Discoveries: House of Fraser

I think its great how more stores, websites and retailers are offering plus size ranges and clothes. I especially love it when you discover a range you haven't heard of before or a website you didnt expect to see offering plus size, offering just that.

Thanks to a post on Facebook today I have discovered that House of Fraser do a range of plus size dresses (and maybe more, I got distracted by the very pretty dresses that they offer) and with their current sale there are some amazing bargains!

Here is a selection of the dresses in their clearance section on the site - with plenty of them going up to a size 28.

They also have some lovely, and not too pricey dresses in the non clearance section of the website that are well worth checking out - loads in a size 28 and lots more if you are able to size down a few :)

I will do a proper ABC feature soon enough, but for now a pieces that stood out for me were:

Flower Print Dress - £10.00 (BARGAIN!)
Floral Print Knee Length Dress
Printed dress with belt
Have you bought anything from House of Fraser? What did you think?
