Super Size, Super Comfy

Sorry for the lack of blog posts, I have been up north for a couple of weeks and only just back in London. Today I had a lunch date with one of my bestests, but also had one of those days where you just want to be comfy! We were only going to the local Toby Carvery so I knew I didn't have to get super dressed up.

In the end, I opted for this new Yours Clothing gold leopard printed tunic top, which they kindly sent me just before Christmas. When they emailed me I was excited to learn that they are now offering a range of their items up to a size 36. Even though this is bigger than I personally need I am always excited to hear of new fatshion options and it's really great to see retailers listening to  the needs of their customers. They also sent me an amazing onesie, which I will review soon!

As you can see I went for very comfy - not a belt or accessory in sight! However, what I wore was perfect with me. I teamed it up with my Just 5 Pounds cardigan, One One Three leggings and some Primark boots - Comfy all the way!!

Yours Clothing have a number of items available up to a size 36, so if you have previously been put off by sizing then make sure you head over now. This item is now only £15 in the sale - bargain!

Have you bought anything from Yours Clothing lately?

If you haven't used Yours Clothing before then you can use the code 'blogger6' to get £10 off of a £20 spend. New customers only but what better excuse do you need to give them a try?

I Can't Shop On The High Street, I'm Fat: A Look At Simply Be, Manchester

When I read things written by fat girls a lot of it revolves around fashion and the limitations they feel they have. Outside of the beautiful world of 'plus size blogging' many people still feel that they can not shop like a 'normal' person but this is not the case at all!

I have already started my ABC of plus size fashion features to try and introduce people to new retailers. My list of 'recommended plus size retailers' at the top of the page now has over 30 stores listed for the same reason!

Now I want to try and show you that you can shop on the high street, whatever your size - as long as you know where to look!

As you know this weekend I was in Manchester on a Hen Party and I stumbled across my very first Simply Be Store in The Arndale Centre there. I dragged the (skinny) hen inside so I could have a nosey. Rather than try to explain to the cashier what I was doing I also sneakily took some photos while I was inside!

I have to say I loved the layout of the store (which is teamed with Jacamo much like Top Shop/Top Man) and found the staff were really friendly and helpful.

The shop was clean, tidy and easy to get around! They had lots of choice too. It was lovely to see some of the items I had spotted on the website 'in real life'.

Some of my favourite items:

Black and Bling

At the weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to the Hen Party of one of my good friends! The original plan was a picnic day in London (with a treasure hunt) and then to go to see a show at Wonderground in Waterloo. Unfortunately the weather put a dampener on our plans - so we ended up having dinner and drinks (what a shame!) in Leicester Square before we went to see the show in Waterloo. If you haven't been to see LIMBO at Waterloo then I can not recommend it enough! The show was breathtaking and Wonderland is fantastic - really worth a visit!

We also paid a cheeky visit to M and M world in the afternoon too! It wasn't my idea honest ;)

The dress code was 'black and bling' and people didn't appoint! As you know, I don't really tend to wear black so I did wonder what I was going to wear. Then I remembered that I bought this black sparkly dress from Excite clothing last  year on eBay and thought it was perfect.

Ignore the badly posed, selfie style photos - I really need to work out the timer on my camera.
Anyway to go with the theme I wore a set of silver bangles from Primark and a frog sparkly necklace from Love Ur Curves.

Dress: Excite Clothing
Pink Leggings: Love Ur Curves
Bangles: Primark
Frog Necklace: Love Ur Curves
Shoes: Primark
Ear Rings: eBay

What did you get up to this weekend?

ABC On Simply Be Dresses - Choices For All Budgets

I have decided to start a new set of posts for my blog – the ABC of shopping. When it comes to clothes we usually have a set amount that we can spend on an item. The great thing about many plus size retailers is that they have a range of items at all sorts of costs, so there is something for everyone.

As a BBW blogger I want to bring you details of dresses to suit all budgets and so I introduce to you, the ABC of shopping.

A - Absolute Bargain – usually a sale item or something that is so cheap you simply cannot afford to have a wardrobe without this in

B - Best Value For Money – Something that is affordable and offers great value

C - Cash To Splash – Items for special occasions that are worth spending a little more of your hard earned cash on!

First up is a ABC on Simply Be Dresses:

I love Simply Be dresses; I really think if you look through their website for a new dress you’ll always find something to suit you! Perhaps what I like best about Simply Be dresses is that there is a massive range of dresses, with all sorts of price tags attached to them – so whatever your budget, there will be something to suit you.

Absolute Bargain
Bow Print Tea Dress - £19.00

I actually have this dress & bought it when it was full price and still feel I have had fantastic value for money. I love the print of the dress and the fit is great. I really like the light blue colour and think it is perfect for summer (if we have ever get one).  It comes in petite, regular and tall which means that it is perfect for everyone. The navy colour is also a great addition to any wardrobe. At less than £20.00 for a pretty dress like this that you can dress up or dress down I really think you cannot go far wrong! You can buy the dress here.
Slightly blurry photo, but here is me in the dress!
Best Value For Money

AX Paris Black Floral Multi Prom Dress With Satin Belt - £40.00

I am in love with at least 95% of the dresses that AX Paris offer up – I have so many of them in my wardrobe and it still isn’t enough. I don’t have this AX Paris dress in my wardrobe, but I think it could well be my next dress spend. I just need an excuse to buy it and wear it! I have a few dresses from AX Paris in the cut and style, although with different patterns so I know how it fits and works with my body. I love the length of these dresses and the amazing patterns that their dresses offer. If you have a party or night out coming up, this dress can be perfectly dressed up to suit almost any situation. You can buy this dress here.

Cash To Splash

Project D London Queens Print Maxi Dress Length 54 inches - £84.00

The Project D range of dresses first hit my radar when a number of bloggers reviewed their pieces. This dress caught my eye because I loved the pattern and it made me realise I simply do not have enough maxi dresses in my life! I have a wedding to attend in September and I am currently considering outfit options and what to wear. If I have the cash to splash then I’ll definitely be considering this dress by Project D. The dress comes in different lengths, so there should be something for everyone and its elastication to the back helps to ensure that it is a lovely flattering fit for anyone that chooses to wear it. You can buy this dress here.

So, there you have it - 3 amazing dresses to suit all sorts of budgets. I hope to bring more ABC of shopping write-ups over the coming weeks and months.

Have you splashed out on anything lately? I’d love to hear about it!

Once You Go Black...

As I went out last night I wore two outfits yesterday... I debated between two short posts and one massive one & decided to split the posts up!

Once again I decided to showcase a pair of my new Love Ur Curves leggings and opted for the blue leggings with white hearts. I found this to be a great fit, but they are longer than the plain/block coloured leggings i also picked up. It wasn't a problem, but maybe something to be aware of.

As they are patterned leggings I had wondered what I would be able to wear them with. Earlier this week I picked up a black skater dress on sale for £20.00 in Evans and realised it would be perfect. Anyone who knows me, knows that wearing black isn't something I do very often, so i did have to dress it up with a large pink statement necklace.

The Evans dress was lovely, but a little baggy for me, So I tucked it with a belt and gave it a bit more shape. The LOVE necklace I picked up Primark ages ago and have been looking for an outfit to wear it with. I think the length of the dress allows you to see just enough of the leggings for the pattern to not be too overbearing.

You'll have to excuse the poses - I am still getting used to this posing malarky!

I really enjoyed this outfit and can definitely see me using more black in my wardrobe with the right colourful pieces added to it!

Do you have any key colours, styles or patterns in your wardrobe?
