Rediscovering Navabi

I have a few days off work and that always leads to more social media browsing and window shopping. Today I saw a few tweets mentioning plus size brand Navabi and thought I would head over to their website. I'll be honest I thought I would just be browsing and lusting over items I was missing out on - because in my head I was sure they went up to a size 28!

When I started looking at items I realised that they did up to a size 32 and so I thought I would share it with you all! For me, discovering brands that do over a size 28 is fantastic and something I'd always share.

Navabi have a really good range of items. I have read loads of reviews from different bloggers and have heard nothing good about the quality of the items on the website - which is always a good thing. Some of the items have a more mature look about them than I would usually wear, but I still feel the importance of sharing retailers that do larger size items! Also, I have seen lot of these items styled amazingly which just goes to show you can make anything work for you!

Some of the dresses available in my size that I really liked are:

I have to give a special shout out to this BEAUTIFUL dress; which would be perfect for a glitzy, glam event! This type of dress is SO HARD to find in top end plus sizes so I love Navabi for doing this UP TO A SIZE 32!!

I love discovering new brands and realising I have more shopping options! If you have any hidden gem shopping recommendations please share them with me :D

I have updated Navabi on
my list of plus size retailers, because I didn't realise they did up to a size 32 - if there's any brands so I should add, give me a shout!

The Nadia Aboulhosn Collection

So, you may have seen over recent weeks that legendary blogger Nadia Aboulhosn teamed up with Boohoo to bring out a capsule collection of clothing. My first thoughts were WOW! The collection is young, edgy and in my eyes a welcome addition to the world of plus size fashion. My second thoughts were that it was a shame that the collection only went up to a size 24. I lust over many items on Boohoo and I can only hope (and pray!) that one day they extend their collection to be more suitable to me and people my size.

The generous people at Boohoo allowed me to pick an item from the collection to try. There are SO many items I wanted but I had to be sensible. I knew that the items would come up 3-4 sizes too small for me, so I had to be clever and get an item that worked for me.

So, I went for this white embossed sleeve hoodie. Now, I know it is not the most exciting item from the collection but actually it really works for me. It is a thickish material but also quite lightweight, so I am finding it perfect for this weather. I love the almost oversized feel and it is an item that I have gotten quite a lot of use out of in the few weeks I have had it!

That said, if you're a size 24 or smaller then I know that there is going to be something perfect for you, so make sure you head over to the website and browse the collection.

What do you have your eyes on?

Jamelia - We Are The 'They' #Wearethethey

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last few days, you will have heard about Jamelias comments regarding clothes shopping on the high street. I blogged about it here.

Today she has 'apologised'. Reassuring us that she only meant 'extremes' in sizes and that she feels the high street should stock sizes 6 to 20... It really is quite laughable.

I feel that by saying 'they' should shop in specialist shops and 'they' should be made to feel uncomfortable it is all very anonymous. It is easy to say that a bunch of blank faces (and bodies) should be treated a certain way, but what Jamelia (and anyone who agrees with her) needs to realise is that WE are real people. We have REAL feelings, REAL jobs, friends and families. When you say that people should make 'them' feel uncomfortable you are encouraging them to treat US differently.. US as in real people.

So, Jamelia and anyone who feels that 'they' should be made to feel uncomfortable...

It is worth pointing out these these women are bloggers and non bloggers, wives, girlfriends, sisters, mothers, cousins, friends, white, black, tall, short, large, extra large, casual dressers, vintage dressers, tea drinkers, bike riders, gym goers, couch potatoes..... and above all else the women that Jamelia feels should be MADE TO FEEL ASHAMED just for buying clothes to go on their back.

If you feel the same as me then please share this post on ANY social media you can. Let's spread the word. If you're below a size 6 or above a size 20 then tweet and Instagram your photos. Let's put even more faces to the people Jamelia feels should be made to feel uncomfortable.

Scarlett & Jo: Revisited

I have blogged about Scarlett & Jo before and to be honest, I have no doubt that I will blog about them again. Scarlett & Jo are a brand that sell exclusively at Evans. One of the things I love most about the range is that ALL of their items go up to a size 32. They don't pick and choose what they think different customers of different sizes want - instead everything is available in all the sizes - such a revelation!

Over recent months they have bought some some beautiful dresses and skirts. They have definitely found a look that works for them - and it's safe to say, I am a fan! They're also big supporters of the blogging industry which is really nice to see.

A couple of weeks ago they sent me this beautiful dress which are far as I can see is not on the website yet. I wore it quite casual just out for dinner but it definitely has potential to be styled up and worn with more glamour.

As usual with Scarlet & Jo items, it's a fantastic fit and really high quality. Whenever I get items from this range I am always pleased with the look and feel of the material of the items - they never disappoint!

Head over to the Scarlett & Jo website today and have a look at their range. What do you have your eyes on?

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Fashion World Knitwear

I love Christmas! Actually I always have quite a quiet Christmas with just the family I already live with but I love it. It's the one thing that makes this part of winter bearable for me.. Although I am still TeamSummer all the way!

Today is my sisters birthday which always signifies the start of Christmas in our household - the decorations are never allowed to go up until after her birthday has been celebrated! So, to celebrate her birthday and get us in the mood we had a right festive day out today and it was lovely!

If you have read my blog before you'll know that I am not a big fan of winter - I hate coldness and I hate having to wear lots of layers! However, when Fashion World offered to send me a jumper from their knitwear range (It goes up to a size 38, how good is that!?) I thought I'd give it a go. I went for this fluffy texure jumper, simply because it is SO cute! I actually sized up twice just because I wanted the big, baggy oversize effect and I have to say I loved it!

I wore it over an old stock ASOS prom dress and I think it worked perfectly. The ASOS dress itself only has a vest top at the top, so I knew that wearing this massive, fluffy jumper with it wouldn't be too much! I stayed lovely and warm while I was outside, without being a hot, sweaty mess on the inside.

In the end we went to a farm to see some animals (including reindeer), a garden centre with some beautiful Christmas decorations and had a roast dinner (complete with pigs in blankets on the way home). It was perfect! This jumper is the idea compromise for winter for me and I can definitely see that I'm going to get a lot of wear out of it!

Fashion World seem to be getting right into the Christmas spirit, with this app online that allows you to create and send an e-card to your loved ones!

I knew that Fashion World went up to a size 32, but I have to say I didn't realise that they went up to a size 38... absolutely brilliant news in my eyes!

What are your must have items for winter?

Let Me Take an 'Elfie

HOLIDAYS ARE COMING! HOLIDAYS ARE COMING!

A few weeks ago the lovely ladies at Yours Clothing sent me this rather lovely Celfie t-shirt. You have probably seen a few other bloggers sporting the t shirt... Not that we're all selfie obsessed or anything!!

The Coca Cola truck visited Morecambe to help kick of Christmas celebrations today so I couldn't resist a little trip out to wear it. If you have ever been to Morecambe before you'll know that it's quite a casual town so I didn't really want to go too dressed up. In fact, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to give this Celfie t shirt it's first outing.

As it's quite cold I thought I'd wear this lovely new tangle cardigan from Taking Shape too. The Taking Shape brand only goes up to a size 24/26 but I found that this cardigan (in size XXL) to be a great fit. I probably wouldn't be able to do it  up but I don't think that for an item like this it really matters.

I actually found both items to be well made and a great fit. For being out and about for an afternoon, having my photo taken in front of crowds of people it seemed like the perfect outfit to be wearing!

The Coca Cola truck was loads of fun, with plenty of fair rides and other amusements to keep 1
children entertained. I even met up with a couple of friends while I was there!

Remember If you're new to Yours Clothing you can use my Blogger18 code to get £10 off of a £20 spend on their website.

Christmas at Boohoo Giveaway

I have spoken before about my love of Boohoo and the items that they offer. I honestly  pray for the day when they extend their range up past a 24 - and I know so many people who feel the same!

You only have to look at their new arrivals page to see that they are offering some fantastic pieces. I love that they offer items that are different, on trend and at a price that is affordable. I'd love to be able to try out more pieces, so if they ever go past a size 24 you can guarantee more items to pop up on this page. That said their plus size collection runs from a size 16 to a size 24 so it isn't all bad.

This week they contacted me to give one of you lucky people the chance to try an item from their collection. Simply enter the raffle copter give away below and the winner will get to pick an item to be sent to them.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

The competition will run until the 10th December. I will get in touch with the winner ASAP for their address details, item choice and what size they want. Boohoo will send the item direct to the winner. No alternatives etc etc.

Good luck!

Floral For Winter: Scarlett & Jo

I have to be honest and say that I don't pay much attention to the seasons when it comes to clothing. I am not a massive fan of big winter coats or layering. When it comes to clothing I love bright colours and patterns and I don't see why winter should be any different.

However I know that when it comes to winter, many people prefer to wear more muted colours - perhaps they are mourning the loss of summer?

When Scarlett & Jo offered to send me an item a few weeks ago I chose this Black Floral Jersey Dress. I thought it would be good to have some darker colours in my wardrobe for winter, but the floral pattern gives a nod to summer which I miss so much!

The dress itself is a lovely fit and definitely a bit generous, you could easily afford to size down. I love the length and the peep-hole at the top which allows it to be an evening or a day dress. It has a waist tie which also gives it a nice fit.

To be honest with you at the moment it feels as though Scarlett & Jo can do no wrong and this dress is certainly no exception!

What are you loving by Scarlett & Jo at the moment?

Evans Shape Stylist - Does It Work?

You might remember the other day I tried out the Evans Shape Stylist service and Sarah via their online service recommended some boots and jeggings for me! I am SO excited to say that I fell in love with both of the items when they arrived a few days later!

The look is something completely different for me but I actually really love it! The jeggings are a little long but that's my fault really as I probably should have bought the short length ones as discussed with Sarah - which just goes to show that they really do know their stuff!

The #Amaze t shirt is also from Evans - how cute is it! The boots are really comfortable and I am so glad I now have some proper shoes for winter :) Jeggings are something brand new for me but I really liked them! Talking to someone before I made my purchase definitely helped me try something new and I am really glad I did!

So, the shape stylist service definitely worked for me - have you tried it yet?

Prices That Let You Shop Aldi

If you're a regular Aldi shopper then you'll know that they have weekly 'Special Buys' that come & go. These feature a range of items, all of which are at a low price and available for a limited time. From the 26th October the high street supermarket are going to offer a range of plus size items for people to buy.

Jean & T Shirt is Evans - Cardigan is Aldi!
The range goes up to a size 24 and features a number of items including tops, jeans and this lovely cardigan. Read about them here. They were kind enough to send me this cardigan to try and I am pleasantly surprised. Despite being a size 24 and therefore a few sizes too small for me it fits fine and I think it looks great!

I have teamed it up with these amazing items from Evans, which are coming to the blog soon!

Let me know if you snap up anything from Aldi!

It Hasta Be Asda

A few weeks ago I wrote about the exciting news that George at Asda had decided to extend their plus size range up to a size 32! You can read that here. The range itself isn't revolutionary and it won't cause headlines but it is pretty amazing! For me, any range that is affordable, accessible and up to a size 32 is great news - and I only hope that this range sets the bar & more high street places follow suit.

The lovely people at George at Asda were kind enough to send me a few pieces to try and I have to say I am really impressed. The dresses were both less than £15 and the leggings were less than a tenner - it doesn't get much better than that, does it?

I love the quality of the items. I have actually worn both of the dresses loads of times in the weeks that I have had them and they have been washed - they're still looking good and the colours are still great. The leggings are really nice too. They are a little long for me, but I am very short so that is often the case! They are perfect tucked into boots which is ideal for this time of year too!

The range itself seems to have a few new items being added here and there, so it is definitely one to keep an eye on!

Have you bought anything from George?

Will This Fit? An Evans Shape Stylist Review!

Last week, the lovely ladies at Evans contacted me to tell me about a new service they're offering - The Shape Stylists. For me, it seems like such a fantastic idea and I am so surprised that something like this isn't used more often.

I am sure we all shop in much the same way when we shop on the high street - we hold items, we feel material, we stretch items etc just to see how well they'll fit us and whether we like them. Whilst online shopping is fantastic, you just don't get this same experience - especially if you want to buy an item that hasn't been reviewed by a blogger.

The idea behind The Evans Shape Stylists is that you can chat to someone about the items you are interested in and how well you think they will fit. You can ask them about stretch, length, size and even items to be paired up with them and recommendations! The stylists themselves are store staff from up and down the UK, so you get to speak to people who really know the products and are experienced when it comes to fitting them onto plus size bodies - brilliant!

When Evans gave me the chance to try the service for myself and buy a few items, I jumped at the chance - just because I think it's quite an exciting idea! I tried not to speak to the Evans ladies too much about the service before I went into it, just because I wanted to go into it as a normal customer and see how easy it was - and I was pleasantly surprised!

I decided to be sensible and look at getting some jeans and some winter boots, as I think I really have to start to come to terms with the fact that summer is well and truly gone. My Shape Stylist was Sarah and she couldn't have been more helpful! I haven't put the whole conversation up (because I chat ALOT!) but it gives you an idea on how the screen works and just how easy it is to chat to someone on this service.

Sarah ended up finding me some lovely ankle winter boots that I wanted and recommend that I give Jeggings a try, as I had been put off of buying these in the past - just because they're not something I've ever been able to buy on the high street and when shopping online it's hard to know what size to go for etc.

I found Sarah really friendly and she clearly knew her stuff. What I really loved is that it wasn't just about trying to push items for me to buy in order to make the sale, instead she was more than happy to tell me items to avoid and things that she didn't think I would get on with.

I ended up making a few purchases thanks to Sarah, which I am waiting to arrive and will review another day! I have to say that having another person to ask when it comes to plus size shopping is fantastic. I have relied heavily on plus size bloggers when it comes to product recommendations and help with brand sizing, but now having someone else to ask is bloody brilliant!

You can use the Shape Stylist service 7 days a week... 9am-9pm Monday-Friday, 3pm-7pm Saturday and 5pm-9pm Sunday too!

Have you tried the Evans Shape Stylist service before? Do you think this is something that you would find helpful?
