Hints and Tips For Planning a Wedding

I might not be likely to be a plus size bride anytime soon, but there is one thing I am good at – and that is organisation! When it comes to event planning, I really love to get everything organised well in advance, so I can get on with enjoying the event! To be honest with you, I even fully throw myself into planning dinner with friends, because having everything exactly as it should be makes me feel much better!

So whether you’re planning a wedding, dinner with friends or a holiday – my hints and tips for planning should be able to help you get sorted!

Be Organised

I have to be honest with you and say, I love a good list! Even if I am just going away for the weekend I love to have a list of what I need to pack, so I can tick this off as I start putting things in my suitcase. I even make a list of what I need to do before I go, so I know I can go away without worrying about what needs to be done and when. I find that when everything is neatly in a list I feel much less stressed about going away, which makes my whole experience so much nicer.

So, if you’re planning something as massively exciting as a wedding I would suggest that you get a list going and ensure that this is done as one of your first jobs. You may find that this list changes as you go along but you’ll feel so much better having a starting point – and being able to tick things off as you go!

Starting Your Planning

Once you have an idea of what you want to do, why not start some online window shopping? Have a look at the website for wedding venues you like, or start to look at hen party ideas as soon as you like. Not only does this help get you excited for what will soon be happening but will help you get organised. Depending on how far in advance you’re wedding planning, you may not need to book things just yet. However, bear in mind that many of the most popular wedding and reception venues do get booked up quickly, so be sure to contact them well in advance about availability. The last thing you want to do is leave this to the last minute and miss out on a venue you really love.

Make Your Mind Up

When it comes to booking something as big as a wedding, it can be easy to get carried away with the expectations of others, especially if you’re a social media user. Literally, the most important thing about your wedding is that you enjoy yourself and it is a day you’ll remember. Don’t get caught up in what other people say make the perfect day, or what they say you should do. Sit down with your partner and have a chat about what you both want and don’t be afraid to stick to this. At the end of the day, you are the ones getting married so you are the only one that matters. This goes the same if you have a budget that you need to stick to. Getting married is a massive commitment, that doesn’t mean that you have to break the bank in order to do so.

Enjoying The Day

When it comes to celebrating the big day, the most important thing is to enjoy it. Leading up to the day you’ll have done everything you can to ensure the day goes smoothly. However, if it doesn’t – don’t worry! It is just one of those things that you’ll look back on and smile. When it comes to the wedding day itself – enjoy the venue, relish getting married and then get on with spending time with your loved ones. Chances are it’ll be the first time in a while you and everyone will have gotten together – so why not use this as a day to make the most of?

If you were planning, a no expense spared wedding – what would you go for?
