We’re 6 weeks and counting to the big day, so for many of us what we’re going to buy our loved ones this festive season is at the forefront of our mind. There is no denying that 2020 has been a tough year for most of us, and if you’re like me you won’t even be able to see all of your family over Christmas. I’m a firm believer in the fact that you don’t have to spend lots of money on a present, but I do like to give thought to what I’m buying and buy something really great – that they’re going to love.
Presents For Those Stuck at Home
Whether you’re working from home, shielding or simply in lockdown, most of us have spent more time at home than ever this year. Whether that is something likely to change in 2021 remains to be seen. However, as we’re spending more time at home it is more important than ever to have a home we love. For me, I got my boyfriend to fit us a new kitchen during lockdown, but I know not everyone is that lucky – or demanding.
I personally think things like or can make a really nice gift. You’ll find websites such as Fine Art America have so many different types of prints and pieces of art, which means you’re bound to find something the person you’re shopping for will love.
How To Know What To Choose
can be quite a personal thing, as can home décor and styling. You know your friend or family member best, so take time to think about what they like and what style they usually go for. For me personally, the wall next to the desk I work from at home is covered in photos of me with friends and family and lots of prints with quotes such as “Beauty begins the moment you decide to by yourself” and “Have the courage to be kind”. I’ve always loved these type of quotes, which you’ll know if you follow me on Instagram, so it makes sense to have them on display where I am likely to see them for a good chunk of my day.
Some that caught my eye from the Fine Art America website are:
These are right up my street and if I were shopping for myself, they’re ones I would definitely look to buy! I really like the colours in them - my style is definitely a mismatch of colours so this would look perfect alongside the other pieces I have in my home. I also have a really cute quote canvas on display in my bedroom so these could be put on display anywhere.
Just because I love a quote print doesn't mean that everyone will. Think about who you are buying for and what they might like - or just treat yourself. You can get fun ones, cartoon prints and even reprints of famous pieces of artwork. Whatever you are looking for there is likely to be a print to choose from.
Then you just need to decide what size you want and what material - there are so many choices to help make sure the wall art you choose is perfect for you.
