Not So Joyful July: Another Spending Ban

Thanks to an amazing ASOS sale and some lovely dresses from Yours Clothing I managed to buy quite a few new items in June... Some of the items I haven't even worn yet! When Abi suggested on Facebook that others join in with her July spending ban I thought I would join in too!

Some of these dresses (and many more) are just to beautiful not to be worn again!

I have so many pretty dresses and outfits that don't get enough wear and I am too easily tempted by colourful patterns and bargain dresses. So I thought I would join in and use July to have a big summer clear out of the clothes that I have. I am sure I have dresses that haven't been worn in a year or so, so I'll be deciding what to do with those.

So... Every Monday (or at least a couple of times this month) I'll be posting a #MoneySavingMonday post about what I have worn that week, what clothes I have sorted out and what gems I have forgotten about and re-fallen back in love with - which I know we'll all do!

There is a few bloggers taking part so make sure you have a read of their posts and see what they're up to as well!

Are you ever tempted by self-imposed spending bans, do they work for you?

Plus Size Clothing - You Do Have Options!

Over the next few weeks I have a number of different posts planned, all around the topic of plus size fashion and the choices you/I/we have. Over the past year I have noticed a definite change in the way plus size retailers work and the options that they present us... Yet, I still see people on Facebook (and other places) talking about being a size 20 and having no where to shop or a size 28 and not being able to find the dress they want for a party! It makes me sad that there are still people who feel like this - simply because I used to be that girl!

Now a days you can find retailers like New Look, Yours Clothing and ASOS Curve who have items that directly match and rival what is being offered by 'standard' size fashion retailers. Even the likes of new-comers Pink Clove and Boohoo are really saying something and to me, that is fantastic news for plus size women everywhere!

Over the next few weeks I'll be exploring plus size retailers that offer items in sizes 12 right up to a size 36! I didn't realise just how many retailers offer options for all sizes, but they really do! You have the likes of Simply Be where you can a dress in a size 12 or a size 32 (and all combinations in between) and Yours Clothing who have around 200 items on their website up to a size 36.

Of course, you could argue that we still have a long way to go - the current Boohoo Plus range 'only'' going to a size 24 for example... But we're getting there and it is pretty exciting to see!

So... Before I get onto those blog posts I wanted to remind you that I have a list of plus size retailers here on this very page. Over the past 12 months I have pieced together a list that now has over 50 PLUS SIZE RETAILERS LISTED! That's 50 retailers for you to choose from who all stock plus sizes!

If you're reading this blog then the chances are you're already well aware that you do have options, but I want to let women everywhere know that they do have places to shop. So please, share this blog post, share my link and share the little button above. It can make such a difference to a plus size woman to know that she has clothing options and it is us that can make it happen!

Where are your favourite places to shop?

Feeling A Bit Of Love For Pink Clove

I have blogged about Pink Clove before and in all likelihood I will blog about them again! A few months ago I bought a couple of dresses in their sale - I got both of these for about £8 each, so a complete bargain! I haven't had a chance to put them on the blog yet, so I thought I would whack up some photos while I had the chance!

Have you bought anything from Pink Clove? What did you think?

I Can't Shop On The High Street, I'm Fat: A Look At Evans in Marble Arch

As plus size retailers go, Evans have been there throughout it all! Although some of their smaller stores have had to close, they still have a massive high street presence and I hope this doesn't change any time soon.

Since moving to London I haven't really had a chance to go to the Marble Arch store, but seeing as it is a flagship store I thought it was about time I visited... I was not disappointed!

Lots of space between rails was something I was very pleased to see! No having to squeeze your way through spaces that have been crammed with rails and sales racks.

A really good winter coat selection - I think we're going to need it if this cold weather is anything to go by!

Lots of items to choose from and plenty of pretty displays to browse!

I'll be honest I don't have many Evans items in my wardrobe - I think it is a mix of styles available and cost that puts me off. That said, I am very pleased to see a plus size retailer on the high street that offers great items. I do have a couple of great items that I am really pleased with though - and I always keep my eyes open for more!

Have you been to an Evans recently? How did you find it?

I'm Fat Therefore No Where Does My Size

Evans are an amazing plus-size retailer, but we have to get out of this mindset that they are the only place we can shop at! The truth is that plus size fashion is bigger (excuse the pun) and better than ever.

I have and will continue to review plus size retailers as I find them, as I see pieces I like etc etc BUT I wanted to put together a list of some of the plus size fashions shops and websites I know of, because you can absolutely dress exactly how you want and there definitely shops that fit you, your shape AND you size!

I really think it is important that we tell women that there are options out there for them, no matter what dress size they wear so please if possible share, tweet, like and distribute this link so we can have a nation of fierce looking fatties who are happy in the clothes that they are wearing!

(Also note this is absolutely not the only choices out there, just a few of the ones I know/like/want to try - They are mostly UK retailers but do offer shipping abroad mostly!)

Simply Be - One of the most known plus size retailers, offering most ranges up to a size 32. My ABC feature on their dresses can be read here.

Excite Clothing - Online retailer with a massive range of items up to a size 32. I reviewed some of their dresses here.

Chubby Cartwheels - Lovely, unique items up to a size 5Xl and bigger.

Yours Clothing - UK clothing retailer with a few stores stocking up to a size 32. I reviewed some of their items here.

New Look Inspire - Recently expanded their range and now offer clothes up to a size 30/32.

This is far from the only options out there - I will have missed, forgotten and probably not know about some! But hopefully that will help some of you, please share & spread the word that fat fashion is possible!

Do you know of any retailers that I have missed? I'd love to hear your recommendations!
