This Daisy Is Yours

I am a big fan of dresses by Yours Clothing and really wish my wardrobe could be packed full of them all! When I saw this dress on the website I knew I wanted it. Although its listed as a tunic it's a great length and perfect for if you want to get your pins out this summer. The jersey material is really nice and 'casual' feeling which is great for summer.

However, one of the nicest things about this dress is that it is available up to a size 36 which is something that really excites me. I love that Yours Clothing now offer clothing above a size 32 and when it is fashion items like this then it is even better. It's also a really generous size so you could easily size down if you wanted to. It has a tie at the waist so you can tie it nice and tight and bring it in if you want to give it a more fitted shape.

As you can see it has a keyhole effect cut out at the front which I think is really fun and cheeky for summer. It's also in the sale for just under £20.00 at the moment (If you're new to Yours Clothing you can use my Blogger18 code to get £10 off of a £20 spend).

If you do head over to the Yours Clothing website then make sure you check out their coming soon section because they have some dresses coming that are well worth lusting over!

Have you bought anything from Yours Clothing recently?

A Dragonfly Inspired Summer Romance

Firstly, I know it has been an absolute age since I last blogged - sorry! I moved up north as you know and it has just taken me a few weeks to get settled and back on track! But here I am... I have a few exciting outfits to show you over the next few days and no doubt a rant or two will find its way in there!

The first outfit I wanted to share with you on my 'comeback' is this lovely dragonfly print dress from the fantastic team at Scarlett & Jo. It will come as no surprise that I am a bit Scarlett & Jo fan. I think when it comes to dresses they really do get it right every time. Their Spring Romance collection (with the infamous 2 for 1 prom dress) went down a complete storm and from what I have seen of the Summer Romance collection (which is slowly creeping into stores and online) this will be exactly the same - the poppy print dress they are bringing out is TO DIE FOR!

The lovely ladies at Scarlett & Jo were kind enough to send me this dragon fly print dress a few weeks ago and I love it. The print jumped out at me on the website  and although its a different style to what I would usually wear, I really love it.

The sleeves are a sheer material so they give a subtle cover up without being too warm. It's a wrap like style and the length is really nice on it too! Its a quite generous fit thanks to the stretchy material but that is perfect for summer when you really want to try and avoid anything that is too warm and clingy.

Now, I just need a party to wear it to!

Do you have any Scarlett & Jo items in your wardrobe?

Another 99p Dress - Shopping My Wardrobe

You'll probably remember a month or two when we all had a bit of a shopping frenzy with the 99p Yours Clothing Dresses. I was so excited about the dresses that I made my dad buy me one and have it sent home - obviously I am back here now and finally have my hands on it!

They don't have the dress on the site any more, but it's a great testament to the different dresses that Yours Clothing offer, so I thought I would share a few snaps anyway!

To be honest with you, this dress might have sat in my wardrobe if it hadn't been for my Lent challenge of shopping my wardrobe. I haven't bought a new piece of clothing for over 30 days now! In the interest of keeping my clothing choices different I put this on and really liked it - the shopping my wardrobe for Lent challenge is doing me well!

I am also wearing my Boohoo leggings which you can see reviewed here.

Have you bought anything from Yours Clothing lately?

Wednesday Wishlist - Another Look At New Clothes

You might have noticed that yesterday I blogged a summer wishlist of items I would buy after my spending ban is up (9 days!!)...Unfortunately I am a glutton for punishment and I can't stop online-window shopping! I thought I would do another little post on items I am lusting after, just because there is SO many nice clothes out there at the moment!! I love that there are some viable choices for fashion out their for plus-size women this season - the fact that there are fashionable clothing choices for people of all sizes!!

Pink Clove

Those cheeky beggars at Pink Clove added another new dress to their website yesterday after my blog post. This pink, lip pattern tunic dress is amazing and only £18!

Yours Clothing

Yours clothing pop up quite a lot on my blog because they're firm favourites with me. What I love about their current selection of clothes is that they have such a range of items - from casual dresses and jogging bottoms to summer dresses and prom style dresses there is everything! Some of my faves include:

ASOS Curve have always been well liked amongst the 'fatshion' community because they offer so much worth buying! This season is no exception and there are SO many nice items I am interested in getting my hands on when my ban is over!

No doubt I'll be lusting over more soon.... So much pretty stuff out there at the moment!

Do you have your eye on anything?

Plus Size Dresses From Matalan? Roger That!

You might remember a few weeks ago I wrote about Matalan and their new updated Rogers and Rogers range. Following on from the post I am excited to tell you that Matalan kindly emailed me and gave me the chance to try an item from the range for myself.

Now, as much as I am trying to stay away from dresses and try new items, I really could not resist this Daisy Print Skater Dress. As soon as it arrived I was impressed with the feel of the dress - it's a lovely light and flowy material that is going to be perfect for summer.

Considering the dress is only £16.00 on the website, I consider it a real bargain!

Have you tried anything from the new Matalan range yet?

So, So, So, Fabulous!

If you didn't sing the title, go back and read(sing!) it again.

As you know, I am on a clothing shopping ban for Lent... so far, so good! Of course the fact that I can't shop hasn't stopped me virtually window shopping and looking at what I could have bought!

This weekend, I decided to have a look at the So Fabulous brand in a little  more depth. As it stands at the moment, I haven't actually bought from Very before, so I can't comment on size and/or quality but they have some lovely dresses up to a size 32 which is always good news!! They mostly have dresses up to a size 28-30 but they definitely have a few cheeky, beautiful numbers up to a 32.

When my clothing spending ban is up, these beauts are what I have  my eye on!!

I really love the vibrancy and print on this dress. I absolutely feel that this would be made to feel at home in my wardrobe, I can really see myself wearing this, especially with the elasticated waist. Priced at £29.00 it isn't going to break the bank either - and it's available up to a size 32 - YAY!

Another dress at £29 is this lovely lace dress. I really love the pale pink colour of this dress and the fact that it really fits in with the current pastel trend is a definite bonus. It's available up to a size 32 which is also great. I can picture this dressed up or down for day or night, which is always good in my book!

You might have noticed that I am quite the skater dress fan. I really like the pattern on this dress (it's also available in bright pink). I don't have any long sleeved skater dresses so I feel like this would add something a little different to my wardrobe, without being too out there.  Again, this is only £29.00 and available up to a size 32.

So there you have it, So Fabulous seem to have a few great picks at the moment, so if unlike me you're actually allowed to buy clothes then they're well worth checking out!

If you buy anything, I want to see!!

Skater Girl

I have read a few reviews of the twin packs of skater dresses from New Look Inspire, but I had never gotten around until trying them! Before Christmas I had £30.00 of vouchers, so decided to take the plunge.

I went for a twin pack containing a heart print skater dress (as pictured) and a red one. I can't see it on the site now, but they do have some great ones for sale!

http://www.newlook.com/shop/inspire-plus-sizes/dresses/multi-pack/multi-packs/_/N-9h3Z1z141u4Z1z141rz

I found the dresses to be a great fit, although a little short to be worn without leggings. They're a decent quality and pretty stretchy what is great.

When you consider that these twin packs of skater dresses are £20.00, you really cant go far wrong. It's always have a couple of go-to dresses for day to day wear and these certainly cater to that.

Have you tried any of them? What did you think?

Sweet Like Chocolate - Simply Be Dress Review

Last week the lovely team at Simply Be offered to send me a dress... how exciting! I spent AGGGESS going through the website trying to decide what to get. I am at stage now where I love dresses but I want something a bit different. You'll know from previous posts that most of my dresses are bright, colourful, full of pattern and eye catching, so I thought I would go for something a bit different. That said, I couldn't bring myself to get a black dress so I choose this chocolately little number instead.

As you can see, I went for the big hair again. I don't know why but I am really loving that at the moment! I really need to find a way to get it bigger, probably learning how to plait nearer to my head as I am not very good at that at the moment.

I struggled to know what accessories to wear with this because lots of my shoes and all of my belts are black... in the end I decided it didnt matter. I went for beige shoes (Primark), a black belt and my trusted Lovely necklace from Primark.

I haven't worn anything from the Jeffrey and Paula range at Simply Be before, which is where I got this from so I ordered my normal size. It's a lovely thick jersey material which is really generous size, I could easily have sized down at least one size, maybe two! I am so glad I went for this dress for a bit of a change, it's a welcome addition to my wardrobe! It's currently £40 on the Simply Be website - http://www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/jeffrey-paula-jersey-print-dress/uc829/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=9985

I wore it to a night out where I drank too much vodka and danced all night - it was comfy to wear all night & lots of people commented on the gorgeous colours in the dress.

On a slight side note, a few weeks ago Alibi health drinks sent me a crate of their drinks to try. I am not usually into health drinks like this but they're sparkling water in either Pomegranate or citrus flavour - they taste surprisingly nice. In one can you get most of your daily allowance of vitamins and minerals which is always a bonus.

It might not be the aim they are going for, but after a night out one of these cans in the morning really sorts me out & fixes the fuzzy head I have caused by one too many lemonades the night before ;)

Afternoon Tea With Anna Scholz

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited down to Anna Scholz HQ to view the new Anna Scholz/Simply Be collection. I have always kept an eye on the Anna Scholz collection because I love how bold and bright the colour and patterns are. Sadly sometimes colour and pattern is something that is lacking in plus size fashion, so it's nice when a brand gives this a go.

When I got there I saw that they had some of Annas own collection stuff out too, not just the stuff for Simply Be. As someone who finds Anna Scholz stuff priced firmly out of their price range it was exciting to be able to see and feel the outfits - I never realised it, but the difference in quality is amazing! She had items in EVERY size to try on, although I wasn't quite brave enough, I really wish I had!

Just look at all those colours and prints - beautiful!

Some of the beautiful lingerie for Simply Be

So much colour - I was in heaven!

We were well looked after!

Me & Hollie from Pretty Big Butterflies and the lady herself Anna Scholz

I believe the Anna Scholz collection and the items for Simply Be are up now, if they're not then keep an eye out because they're worth having a nosey at. Thank you to the team at Anna Scholz for making us feel so welcome and to Simply Be for inviting me.

Falling In Love With Scarlett & Jo

You'll know that earlier this week I was invited to Evans at Marble Arch to view their Cut For Evans range. While I was there I took the chance to have a sneaky peak around the rest of the store, because I just don't get to this side of town often enough.

I have kept my eye on the Scarlett and Jo dresses on the website, but I have to be honest there was nothing quite like seeing them in the flesh. The prom dress jumped out at me - it's such a vibrant colour and nice shape. I don't own many 'pretty' dresses like that, but it's definitely one that I would like to have hanging in my wardrobe.

Scarlett & Jo first made a name for themselves with their Power Fit dresses which have gone down an absolute storm. You might remember that I reviewed the leopard print one a while back. What I love now is how they're expanding and offering so many more different shapes and styles, which helps to ensure that there is something for everyone.

Some of my favourite Scarlett & Jo offerings are:

It's really lovely that all of these come from Scarlett & Jo - just because they are all so different. I am really trying to expand the type of dresses I have in my wardrobe - I love skater dresses but I would love to step out and try something new.

What are your fashion plans for 2014? Do you want to mix it up a bit?

A Dress for 99p? Surely Not!

I have often heard about these 99p dresses, 1 pence pairs of shoes etc. but assumed that they were purely marketing gimmicks were actually no one ever got such a bargain.

I was quite excited this afternoon when I read that Yours Clothing had a range of 99p dresses on sale! I approached the website with caution, not wanting to get my hopes surely. Surely nothing that pretty could be less than the price of a double cheeseburger?

http://offers.yoursclothing.co.uk/?source=webgains&siteid=136105

When I got to the site - I was greeted by this beauty of a homepage!

I quickly clicked through and I am proud to say I have the polka beauty of a dress coming at me!!

I had to pay £3.99 postage (you can do £2 click and collect) but still... this lovely polka dot dress for the grand total of £4.98 - BARGAIN!

You can only buy one dress... But I have no idea if its a limited offer or an on-going thing! I'd still get one snapped up pretty quickly if you want one!

Did you manage to snap one up?

Which one?

Debz xx

Don't forget, if you haven't used Yours Clothing before then you can use the code 'blogger18' to get £10 off of a £20 spend. New customers only but what better excuse do you need to give them a try?

Different Strokes For Different Folks

One thing I love about reading blogs is seeing how different people choose to style different outfits. I thought I would put together a few different examples as I find it fascinating to see. It's interesting to me to see how different dresses can look so different on ladies of vary heights, sizes, body shapes and different styles.

The Infamous Pink Clove Skater Dress

L-R - Me, Sarah from http://plussizeproud.wordpress.com/, Nikki from http://www.nattynikki.com/, Caroline from http://www.curvywordy.com/

The Simply Be Mermaid Dress

L-R Me, Rachel from http://www.adressisforlife.com/, Betty from http://pamperandcurves.blogspot.co.uk/

Red Lace New Look Dress

L-R Me, Mookie from muki7x7.blogspot.co.uk, Leah from http://www.justmeleah.co.uk/

I love that all of these dress look different on different ladies, even if they're styled the same! It just goes to show that you never know how a dress is going to look until you try it on - so get out there, be brave and try something new!

I'd love to expand on this feature in the future - Have you got a photo of you in a dress I have? I'd love to see and if possible share it with my readers!

Thanks

ABC Of The New Pink Clove Collection

I saw on Twitter a couple of days ago that Pink Clove had put a couple of new items on their website and of course, couldn't resist a little peak! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was when I saw the page - full of colour and patterns! I loved it!

I don't know if dress-envy is an actual condition, but if it is - I have it!! I thought I would take a closer look at a couple of their pieces... so here you have it!

Affordable - Floral Skater Dress

http://www.pinkclove.co.uk/dresses-c2/floral-skater-dress-p192

For a skater dress, I can't believe this only costs £18.00. I would usually expect to pay a bit more for a patterned skater dress like this. I like the length that it is on the model and if it came up to a similar length on me I would be very happy. The dress is available up to a size 26/28 and would definitely be on my 'to buy' list, if I had the budget!

Bargain - Animal Print Baby Doll Tunic

What I love about this baby doll tunic is that it's available in two colours - I love it when plus size fashion has choices which is something that we don't often see. I know that for some people tunic length tops are a bit short but as you can see both types go well with leggings. For £18.00 each, these are both bargains and I'd love to see both in my wardrobe.

Cash To Splash - Blue Colour Block Dress or Ballerina Wrap Dress

I had to cheat a little on the Cash to Splash section - firstly because both of these dresses are just £24 each and secondly because I chose both dresses! You probably already know, but I love a bit of colour. Both of these dresses are just so bright and vibrant that I would love to own them!

As yet, I have yet to try anything from the new Pink Clove collection, once I buy an item or two I will be sure to let you know!

Have you tried anything yet?

Not So Mini Mouse

Yes... The typo is on purpose! I know, I am THAT funny!

Just a very quick post today on a lovely polka dot dress I picked up in the ASOS Sale. It's currently only £13, bargain! (It seems to be out of stock upon checking, but they have the lovely navy one for only £22! http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Curve/ASOS-CURVE-Exclusive-Skater-Dress-In-Spot-Print/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2995287&WT.ac=rec_viewed)

I love the skater dress because it is a longer length - although I have tucked it up under the belt because I wanted it to be a bit shorter for the night out I was going on. I love the versatility. Teamed it up with a black belt that I picked up at the Plus London Plus Size Market for the grand old price of 50p!

I managed to do the whole of Saturday night out sober... partying and dancing til 3am. I was quite proud of myself - Dryathlon/Cancer Research you should be too! http://www.justgiving.com/Debbie-Aiken-dryathlete

If you're looking for a dress or two for a bargain price, I really can't recommend the ASOS sale enough at the moment.

Have you bought anything?

Big Bird - My ASOS Curve Sale Bargain!

I have to admit being a fan of a sale - I mean, when you can get a dress at a bargain price - why not!? Just before Christmas ASOS announced a massive up to 50% off and I could have wept - who wants to be bargain dress shopping before Christmas?

Anyway - two dresses caught my eye and so I had to have them - which at a total of £22 for 2 dresses delivered was amazing! I got my hands on this brill bird print dress & a lovely polka dot one, which no doubt I'll write about in the future too!

I wore it out the other day teamed up with a stretchy belt, New Look Jacket, One One Three Leggings and a New Look lion necklace (which was another sale bargain at £2!)

I found the dress to be a very generous fit and I love the pattern - which is pretty but also plain, so can be dressed up in anyway you want. It's also elasticated under the bust, which helps to give it a lovely shape and be nice and flattering, for want of a better word!

What sale bargains have you snapped up?

You can grab this ASOS dress at http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Curve/ASOS-CURVE-Skater-Dress-In-Bird-Print/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3118890&SearchQuery=bird%20print&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=3&clr=Print for just £13!
