I love a spot of afternoon tea, don’t you? There is just something different about eating small sandwiches and scones, off of a cake stand – why do they taste so different served this way? Miniture pastries just have a whole different vibe to them, don’t you think?
I didn’t realise until I read this Great British Guide to Afternoon Tea that there were so many different ways to serve up the tasty treat! They have a handy map on their page that shows you some places to enjoy afternoon tea and what the places have to offer – how handy!
Afternoon Tea
When I was invited to check out the page I started thinking about what my favourite parts of afternoon tea were – a few years ago I would have said that the glass of fizz you often get with it would be up there. However, now I think I like the idea of some posh sandwiches, that I haven’t had to make myself! I love an afternoon out that has scones and sandwiches incorporated into it – especially as there are so many varieties and twists now, so there is always something new and interesting to try.
Of course, you can’t talk about any type of afternoon tea without the ongoing debate about scones – are you a cream or a jam first kinda person? If I am honest I think that both ways taste amazing & I wouldn’t mind either of them being served to me. If I was making scones at home, I would put cream on first and then jam, delicious!
As part of the guide, they have a really cool quiz that lets you test your knowledge about #TeaTimeEtiquette and see just how much you know! It also tells you some really cool facts – for example, did you know that afternoon and high tea are different things? I’d have assumed they were pretty much the same thing.
