Although fast-fashion won’t be going anywhere anytime soon, there is definitely a rise in the popularity of sustainable and ethical clothing. Of course, as you might imagine plus size ranges in this type of clothing are a little behind, but I think over the next few years we’re likely to see this trend change & hopefully, a choice of clothing will be available for all.
There are different ways that clothing can be sustainable and ethical – paying a fair wage or using recycled material for example. The working conditions of the people who create the clothes & the carbon footprint that it takes to get each item of clothing to your door are things to be considered.
Bamboo Clothing
I’ve recently been introduced to Bamigo, a company that makes all manner of clothing from bamboo – I know, it was a new one on me too! There are many reasons why bamboo is becoming an increasingly popular material to use, including the fact that it absorbs twice as much carbon dioxide than other trees! Bamboo itself grows much quicker than lots of trees, so re-planting
trees and helping to ensure the source remains sustainable doesn’t have to be a chore!

Imagine being able to live a comfy life while knowing you’re going your bit for the environment? Perfect! They currently offer up to an XXXL which is better than some more sustainable brands that I have seen, let’s hope it continues to be popular and they’re able to expand their size offering soon!
