Can you believe it’s Friday already? This week seems to have flown by for me, what about you? If you follow my social media you’ll know that we have had a new addition to the family – Lola! She’s been so good since we got her, but I just know she’s going to be a handful, I can’t wait! This weekend is going to be mostly spent getting to know her better and letting her get to know us, but I thought I would share some fun weekend ideas with you, especially as it looks set to be a rainy one.

Have an Indoor Picnic
I love a good picnic, but I am not sure that this weekend is going to quite be the weekend for it. However, there’s nothing wrong with a carpet picnic if you fancy a picnic lunch but don’t want to get soaking wet. Buy and prepare all of your favourite picnic foods and then set out the picnic blanket on the floor. Gather together some of your favourite people and enjoy. You could even take yourself into the garden and relax if there is a break in the rain. These garden hammocks come highly recommended if you’re looking for some funky, relaxing seating options to add to your garden.
Visit a Spa
If you fancy really treating yourself then you could always treat yourself to a spa treatment or two. In fact, you could even go all out and look at things like how to enjoy spa weekends in Yorkshire. Lots of hotels have great weekend deals that include use of the spa so you get to do it all – it might be too late to arrange for this weekend (or not, depending on how adventurous you are) but why not plan ahead and get one booked for a future date?
Take Some Time Out For You
Our weeks are often busy with work, family and life juggling – which means we have a list of chores to catch up with on the weekend. This weekend take a couple of hours out just for you – no washing, no hoovering and definitely no school uniform sorting. Have a bath, watch a film, have a nap or do all 3. Just promise yourself you’ll take out a little time for yourself and make sure you stick to your promise.
Being relaxed at the weekend is all about what works for you. For me it’s about knowing what needs to be done at the weekend, getting those tasks ticked off my list and then enjoying the free time before Monday morning invariably comes back around again. However, if you have a different idea of how to relax this weekend, that’s ok – do what works for you, after all – you deserve it!
Let me know what you get up to!
