Whilst you may easily come up with suggestions and ideas for the guests, choosing what to wear as a pregnant mama for such an important day can be truly challenging. This is a moment that will likely be recorded and replayed for years to come so you want to look your best and you want to wear something appropriate for the occasion.
Beyond all else, what you choose to wear should clearly reflect the gender that you believe your child to be. This being the case, we have broken down the things to consider when choosing a maternity dresses so you can make the best choice.

If You Think It Is A Boy
Traditionally, those that think that the baby is a boy should wear a light blue color to match. However, there are some variations on this you might consider. Whilst light blue is traditional, almost any shade and a variant of the color blue could also be acceptable.
Additionally, you may wish to stray from tradition slightly and select another color to represent your selection of a boy like green. However, if you do this, you should make sure that the entire reveal including the guest’s attire has been suitably adjusted to match.
There is also the option of gender reveal themes. For example, if your gender reveals has a star wars theme then you could choose a male star wars costume or something with a male star wars character on it to represent your choice.
Either way, try to keep the outfit simple and uncomplicated.
If You Think It Is A Girl
If you think it is a girl you can go pink all the way. Go as girly as you like with frills, tiaras, or just simple rosy elegance. This may be your chance to make yourself look like a princess or simply look stylish in pink.
Like with boys, you can also go nontraditional and select white, or another light color to represent the girly selection. Try to stray from darker colors, however, since these tend to give confuse the crowd.
Again if you were to do a theme party, like star wars, you could also dress as Leia or some other themed character that represents the feminine choice.
If You Have No Idea What it is
This is surprisingly common. If you do not want to choose one side or the other, then don’t. Pick a dress that combines the blue and pink or select something gender-neutral so that you do not have to pick a side and you can be just as happy either way.
