Great Places for Camping – Whether you’re a die-hard camper, you love a bit of glamping, or you prefer a caravan or motorhome to go camping, clubs are a great way to find somewhere to stay, wherever you want to venture to. One of the best things about camping, however you want to do it, is that you get to stay in some amazing places and see lots of the UK.
With international travel being so tricky, many more people are being introduced to some of the amazing places the UK has to offer in terms of staycations, and in my eyes it’s about time. I have had some amazing holidays and getaways in the UK and think that with so much to see and do, it’s great if other people can take advantage of this as well.
Finding Some Great Places for Camping
Where Can You Find Camping Clubs?
The two biggest clubs in the UK if you are a caravan, motorhome, trailer tent or tent camper are the Camping and Caravanning Club and the Caravan and Motorhome Club. Both of these offer their own range of features and benefits. You can book pitches on sites run by either of these clubs if you are a non-member, but as a member you get access to discounts on pitch fees and ferry travel, plus other benefits. There are different types of sites available, and you can choose to stay at more secluded and basic sites with maybe just a tap for water, all the way up to sites that offer wash blocks and toilet facilities, electricity and water to your pitch, and even bars, restaurants and swimming pools.
How Can I Find Out More?
You can take a look at both the Caravan and Motorhome Club and the Camping and Caravanning Club websites to get an idea of the sites you can book through them, and find out more about the benefits of becoming a member.
What if I’m interested in caravans or motorhomes and want to find out more?
Whether you’re a seasoned tent camper looking to move to four wheels or new to the idea of caravans and motorhomes altogether, there are lots of places you can find information online. Bailey of Bristol are one of the UK’s caravan and motorhome manufacturers and on their website you can find a Virtual Showroom for both caravans and motorhomes. These can give you a great idea of what each caravan and motorhome offers in terms of layout and styling so you can decide what sort of vehicle you might want – all from the comfort of your own home!
Where Should I Visit?
The great news about travelling the UK is that there are so many different places you can visit, and with a caravan or motorhome, taking a road trip and seeing a variety of them is even easier. I personally love places with lots of scenery, so would love a road trip around Scotland one day, and often like to visit places near me such as the Portsmouth coast and the New Forest.
If you’ve had any experience with camping, clubs, caravans or motorhomes, I’d love you to share your thoughts below.
