If you’re considering a holiday but are unsure about going abroad then a visit to Scotland should be something you consider. Scotland as a holiday destination has a little something for everyone – busy, vibrant cities for a fun-packed city break, holiday parks for the whole family and plenty of places to take a caravan and get close to nature. Here are just some of the places you should check out if you’re considering visiting Scotland for your next staycation.
Getting Close To Nature
Scotland has some amazing scenery and plenty of places that are on my ‘must-see’ list. You only have to look on Google maps at some of the amazing beaches, woods and hills to know that there are plenty of places in Scotland with adventure to be had. South Ayrshire is somewhere that has plenty to see and do – I’d love to take a caravan or holiday home up there and just spend some time driving around and taking it all in; perhaps with no exact plan of where to go but just to see where the world takes us. Places like Loch Lomond National Park and places nearby such as the Devil’s Pulpit are definitely places I would love to visit next time I get that far up north! Of course, the Highlands and Loch Ness are worth a visit too. I’d probably find Ben Nevis a bit too energetic but I can imagine a drive around that whole area would make for an amazing day out.
The Best Campsites Scotland
Depending on where you want to visit, you’ll find a range of camp and caravan sites to choose from. If you’re going camping in Scotland then you should look up some of the best sites in Scotland before you go, so that you have an idea of what is available and where you might like to stay. For example, if you’re visiting the West Coast then you might want to consider a site that is near the Isle of Mull so that you can take in the sights there! The benefit of taking your vehicle with you on a camping trip like this is that you can practically visit anywhere you want; without the need to rely on public transport to get you there.
Making The Most of Your Holiday
Whilst I love a cheeky hotel stay, I would love to experience Scotland without a real plan of where to go. There are so many caravans and holiday parks, that you would never be short of somewhere to stay – and I bet while you’re there people with the same idea as you would be able to share some real travel gems on where to go.
