Last week I visited Haven at Reighton Sands in Yorkshire and had the best time. I went with family and turned 40 while I was there and so it was really lovely to spend time with them in the lead-up to such a big milestone birthday. The accommodation at Haven was brilliant & at some stage I’ll get around to writing about staying in a mobile home as a plus size person. Of course, being on a staycation was the perfect excuse to try some new outfits – so here’s a quick plus size clothing review!
Both of these dresses are from Yours Clothing; a brand that you will see featured again and again on this blog. I have shopped at Yours Clothing for years & the fact that they stock up to a size 40 is amazing. I’ll let you into a little secret, I usually shop online but whilst on holiday I needed an emergency pair of leggings and was thrilled to find a Yours Clothing store ON THE HIGH STREET! As a size 30/32 my options are generally limited, so it was nice to be able to pop into a shop like an ‘average’ person and just get what I need.
I haven’t really worn midi dresses before but they seem to e everywhere this year, so I thought I would give one a go – and this one is really nice!
Although I don’t really shy away from short dresses and getting my legs out, I know many people prefer to have their legs covered and wear leggings or tights. I love that the length of this dress is long enough that leggings don’t have to be worn – although I am only 5’2 so definitely something to pay attention to. I got my usual size 30/32 and it’s a great fit, no stretch but feels lovely so I would stick to your usual size if you’re going shopping!
Obviously, I went for the pink floral midi dress but they also have it in green which you can see here on the wonderful Georgina Grogan and Lucia U Can’t Wear That – aren’t they stunners! They have reviews on their blogs too, so be sure to check them out.
I was also on the lookout for a dress I could throw on during the day with a pair of leggings and comfortable as I walked around the holiday park and explored the beach. This floral smock dress is SO soft and I love the green and pink colour, it’s really similar to a dress I already have and love, but who cares!
I have been browsing and they have loads of occasion & partywear coming up, so no doubt I’ll be shopping with them again very soon!
