3 Ways To Get Your Kid Outdoors More – With better weather on the horizon it is time to start thinking about dusting off our summer clothes and spending more time in the sunshine. However, being able to get your kid outdoors more can sometimes be easier said than done – so here are some tips!
Find a Sports Activity That They Like
Sporting activities are a great way to get your kid outdoors more because there is something for everyone. Whether your kid wants something fast-paced like roller skating or something high adrenaline like tennis you can be sure there will be an activity that they’ll like. On top of that whether you simply want to buy something like a kids tennis racket and go it alone or sign them up for a class is up to you too – there are plenty of options for both.
The great thing about sporting activities is that anything goes in terms of how much you do and what your abilities are – remember, it’s all about getting outdoors more and having some fun! The added bonus of them getting some exercise and moving their body more is not something that should be ignored either.

Do Things as a Family
Family activities can be fun; although if you simply invite your teenager to family dinner you might not get a favourable response. Instead, think of fun activities that you can do as a family that everyone will enjoy – is there somewhere that you’d all like to visit or a sport you can all try together? Parks, picnics, swimming and even things like geocaching are great, outdoor activities that the whole family can get involved in.

Ask Them Their Preference
Rather than simply guessing what your kid likes and wants to do, why not ask them? Having a conversation about the better weather and what their plans for summer might be is a great way to get the conversation started. You might need to discuss the possibilities in terms of budget and what is possible, but having an idea of what they’d like to do when it comes to outdoor activities is most definitely a positive way to start the conversation.

If you have any ideas on ways to get your kid outdoors more that have worked for you, I’d love you to share them below
