Love During Lockdown

June 11, 2020 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

We’re hopefully starting to come out of lockdown now and I’m looking forward to life starting to get back to normal – or the new normal that we can all look forward to at least. I think it is important to recognise that since the UK went into lockdown in March, life has been very different for most of us.
Meeting New People
One of the biggest changes that lockdown bought about was the ability to meet new people. Whether you’re just someone sociable, you’re dating or you’re signed up to something like a Hampshire sex site, the ability to do any of these things in real life was taken away from us all.
If you are someone that is dabbling in any type of online dating or even yorkshiresexsite.co.uk, then you’ll  probably have gotten a little inventive over the past few weeks, as all of your
talking to people has moved online.
Thankfully, there are lots of apps and ways to chat and get to know people online. So, if we can adapt to this new way of communicating we can still get to know new people!
Being Lonely
Of course, you have the other side of this. People are in relationships with partners that they have been unable to see. I have lived with my partner for over a year now, but before that we did long distance between Hampshire and Birmingham. I was just thinking the other day how different things would have been if we were still long distancing and how I would have been unable to see him for weeks. I imagine that there are lots of people in similar positions to this currently and it is something that I really empathise with!
Being With Someone Too Much
Then you have a completely different perspective. People who are used to living busy lives and having space from the other people in their homes are suddenly forced to spend lots of
time with them. There is nothing wrong with this, the chances are you love the people you’re with but it is a big shift in routine and something that we should all give consideration to.
The New Normal
I think coming out of lockdown will give us all a different appreciation for love, time and those around us. It is such a small thing, but I miss going to Wetherspoons on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with my boyfriend. We didn’t even do it all the time, but it was something that we loved doing & haven’t been able to do for ages. Of course, the fact that my family are 5 hours away
and I haven’t seen them since before Christmas is a big deal too! I hope that this will give us all a new appreciation of the people around us.
So, whether it’s meeting new people, missing loved ones or spending more time with the people we care about – lockdown has changed lots of things! What things has it changed for you & what things are you looking forward to getting back to normal with?
