Making Lasting Memories – If the last year and a half has taught me anything, it is that nothing is promised. I still remember sitting on the sofa and hearing the announcement that the UK would be going into lockdown and that our movements would be restricted – what an emotional night that was! Of course, the next 18 months weren’t easy for any of us and we all had to get through it in the best way we could; and for me, some of that was having lovely memories to look back on; which helped give me something to look forward to.
Making Lasting Memories
One of the nicest things now that things are going back to normal has been creating new memories. I was lucky enough to be able to travel up to Yorkshire in July to see my family, which after a year of not being able to see them was lovely! My niece has just turned 3, so missing 12 months of her growing was tough – thank goodness for video phones! While I visited we got to spend loads of time together including dinner and trips to the park, which really was lovely! There’s something so lovely about spending time outdoors with kids isn’t there?
Looking Back on Old Memories
I am a photo-taker; I’m forever taking photos – I have hundreds of my new puppy Lola on my phone and she isn’t even 6 months old yet. I love that mobile phones allow us to be able to take photos quickly and easily and be able to store them. I am sure I am not alone in spending time looking through old photos during lockdown and remembering some of the lovely times I had with loved ones in the past.
Proudly Displaying Memories
One thing I have to admit to loving is getting photo prints done so that I can display photos around the house. We have a new canvas of the pets hanging up on the wall which I really love. I have photo frames everywhere filled with photos of me and my partner and our families. I even have a messy wall where I just pin-up photos next to where I work throughout the day, something so lovely look a during my working hours.
Even in times when we can see our families more often it is so nice to have reminders that you can look at throughout your home every day. Thankfully, places like Snappy Snaps have really affordable photo printing options, which makes it easy for me to be able to keep up my hobby without breaking the bank.
Apparently, Christmas is something like 100 days away so I am sure that, like me, many people will be looking forward to making more memories that matter throughout the festive season and then of course we’ll be in 2020, with a whole new year to make some amazing memories!
