Anyone who knows me will tell you that summer is by far my favourite time of year – I don’t like the cold and wetness of winter, but the summer sun really does make me feel alive. However, the last couple of days have been BOILING and rumours are that next weekend will be even worse – here are some tips on how to survive hot weather.
Comfy Seating
If you’re planning to spend time outside in your own garden then comfy seating – which I know can be a nightmare when you’re plus-size. Those plastic garden chairs are the thing of nightmares aren’t they? I’ve been looking at Big Bertha Original and their giant beanbag options – I do have some sturdy plastic chairs that are great, but something comfortable like this sun lounger bean bag chair would be perfect for a lazy afternoon in the sun.

Wear What You Want
One of the biggest issues I have found with the hot weather is people afraid of showing too much flesh – feeling embarrassed to show off their arms or as if their legs are too ugly to be seen out in public. I promise you, 99% of people don’t care what you are wearing – and even if they do, if you’re cooler wearing something a little shorter or ditching the cover-up then go for it – your comfort is way more important than someone else’s opinion. As you’ll see from this Shein dress, I have been doing just that!
Go Easy on Yourself
When it is really hot – like we’re expecting over the next few days it is important to recognise that you can’t do it. We have all made silly mistakes when it comes to the sun and doing too much – don’t let 2022 be the year you repeat those mistakes. Do what you can, skip what you can’t, drink plenty of water & invest in some comfortable seating so you can enjoy the hot weather as safely and comfortably as possible.
There are loads of comfortable seating options!
If you have any tips on how to survive hot weather I’d love you to share them below
