I’ve been blogging for 5 years under my current website now. Before this I blogged under 2 other websites, one on Art and another about travel. Throughout the years I’ve learnt a lot about things you should know before you start a blog or whilst beginning one and I’ve put together this little list to help.
Here’s 5 things to know before you get into blogging.
Not everyone will love your work
It’s true! When you start writing, you usually want other people to read and find your work. Here’s the kicker though, you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Oh and that’s ok! It took me years to realise that as long as I was happy with the content I was putting out there, that would be the biggest thing. Your audience will find you and the stars will align.
Consistency is key
Whenever I talk to my family about blogging, it seems to be laughed off as some easy thing. I assure you that in order to build a successful blog, consistency is key. When the stats are low and the content isn’t exactly as you’d hope, you have to push through. Keep showing up and writing.
Self-Host will change your game
I didn’t go self-hosted until my 3rd year of blogging and I wish I’d have done it sooner. Being self-hosted will allow you to have so much more flexibility and control over your website. Have a little
look into it and you’ll find your mind is blown!
You don’t have to be perfect
Ok so you’re not the best writer? That’s ok! Feel your photography isn’t as good as others? Don’t worry about it. You do not have to perfect. We’re all human and I can guarantee you’ll find grammatical errors, spelling errors and more on my own website. Try not to overthink it. If you have fun, you’ll never get fed up
Most importantly, have fun with it.
If you’re having fun, you won’t get fed up or bored. Remember the main person to keep happy is yourself and you have full control over how you do that. So if you want to
write about a topic other’s haven’t covered, then that’s great! Do it!!! You never know, you might have just found a niche audience for yourself.

A Look At Powder Coating
Often one of the last choices in the method used to fabricate or manufacture component parts is choosing a surface finish.
Why Powder Coating?
Powder coating is a commonly used technique to apply a surface finish with key advantages over other traditional methods of surface finish, like painting, or plating. Components that are powder coated will show superior resistance to abrasion and scratch resistance. Suitable for use in challenging environments, unlike paint or plating, The coating will not chip off, or crack if the component is subject to bending forces during use. The coating will maintain its integrity and flex with the component as it bends or twists
How is Powder Coating Applied?
The coating is applied by applying the powder coat to form an even layer on the material to be coated, then heated to fuse the particles together, forming a tough, homogeneous coating. The component then cools and the coating is ready for use. The even coat is achieved using an electrostatic process, the component to be coated is sprayed with the coating powder that carries a static electric charge, this charge attracts the powder to the item being coated, evenly depositing it on its surface. Other methods are also used to apply the even coating, these include a fluidised bed of aerated powder, into which the component to be coated is dipped to be coated, then heated to fuse the coating.

There are no VOC pollutants released during the process. This not only helps the environment, but keeps the cost of making the process safe for ourselves, and our planet, much simpler. Lower production costs can be achieved against other processes.
The process is faster than paint, as the old adage goes, no one likes waiting for paint to dry, this is never more true when that drying time interrupts a production process. If you are after a durable, attractive coating, that works well as part of a production process, powder coating often proves to be the best solution.
