As much as we can plan for the future when buying or renting a home, there is no way that we can plan for all eventualities. Not only that, but we don’t always have the budget for a home that has extra space just in case we may need it in the future.
Creating Space Without Major Changes
One of the things many of us are guilty of us is keeping too much stuff. We hand on to things just in case and have cupboards full of things we might need on a rainy day. Whilst there is nothing wrong with this, if you’re short on space then these things that you don’t really need are simply taking up space you don’t have to spare. If your home is feeling too small then a declutter and getting rid of things like coffee tables you don’t need can help free up space without you needing to make any major changes at all.

Converting Wasted Space
If you have space within your home that isn’t being utilised then changing this is definitely something to consider. For example, why not look at converting your loft to space that you can actually use? Rather than just using your loft for storage of items that you don’t need; convert this into an extra room that you and your family can actually make use of. The great thing about converting your loft space into a functional room is that you can convert it into any room you need – an extra bedroom, a home office or simply extra living space for everyone in the home to enjoy.
Making The Most of What You Have
Making the most of the space you have in your home is a must too. A big part of this is to do with making sensible storage options. These days there are lots of space-saving storage options on the market so looking into these and what you could take advantage of is a must. For example, under-the-bed storage or sofas that convert to beds can make a big space saving within the home too!
If you have any tips on how to create more space when your home feels too small then I’d love to hear them
