I’ve started looking at Christmas presents and what to buy the family – is that too early to say? It’s the middle of September and the festive season will soon creep around so I thought it was better to be organised and that way I can start to budget. When looking at ideas for younger family members I came across a website that sold stunt scooters and thought they were such a good idea.
One of the things I noticed about stunt scooters is that they come in options that are suitable for all ages. They’re particularly popular with teenagers so the options for these are in abundance but you’ll find plenty of options that suit everyone. However, having not bought one before I started to look into how to choose your first stunt scooter and learned loads!
The Height
For example, I would have probably just shopped by the age recommendation for the scooter I was interested in, but actually, the height of the person that is going to be riding it is super important too. You want to ensure that the steering bar of the scooter is at the right height for the person riding to be able to be stood with their back straight and their arms outstretched. Lots of websites that stock micro scooters allow you to filter them down by height which makes the shopping experience so much easier.
What You’ll Be Doing
Of course, stunt scooters are generally designed for being able to do stunts with but what you’ll be using them for matters. For example, if you’re planning to do loads of tricks that involve jumps and bunny hops then you’re probably looking for a scooter that is lightweight. However, if you’re going to be riding the streets and gliding over uneven surfaces then something that is more robust might be more up your street.
Budget
You’ll find micro scooters and stunt scooters available at all ends of the spectrum when it comes to budget and cost and the most expensive aren’t necessarily the best. If you’re buying for someone that hasn’t really ridden before then a starter scooter won’t set you back too much and saves you spending money on something that may or may not be used. The best thing you can do is shop around for what options are within your budget and then read reviews on the options so you can be sure that you’re getting good value for money.
Of course, the style of the scooter is going to matter too; but you’re well catered for don’t worry. There are so many choices of style and design when it comes to stunt scooters that finding something that matches your needs perfectly should not be too much of a problem!
