Last weekend the circus came to town, and as a really small town where not an awful lot happens – it was a big deal! I was lucky enough to be gifted some tickets from the John Lawson’s Circus team, so we went along and it was INCREDIBLE! So, here’s my John Lawson’s Circus review
We went to the 5 pm showing and in complete contrast to this weekend, it was scorching hot and bright sunshine – beautiful. We were super lucky as the circus was actually in a park about 3 minutes walk from our house, so we didn’t have to drive there or have any worries of parking (although at a glance this looked pretty well catered for).
Both my partner and I love the circus and so were thrilled to bag ourselves some seats near the front – what an incredible view we had!
I don’t want to spoil the show for anyone that is thinking of going (and if you’re not, I’d highly recommend looking into whether they’re going to be local to you anytime soon) but it is the perfect mix of laughter, circus fun and minor peril. The ringmaster and lead clown have such wonderful showmanship, they really keep the show flowing perfectly. The show itself is made up of acrobatics, amazing tricks on roller skates, knife throwing, Hoola hooping, juggling, tightrope walking and so much more – it packed so much into the 2-hour/ show, I was gutted when it was the end.

If you haven’t been to John Lawson’s Circus before then I would suggest heading over to their site and seeing if they’re coming to a place near you soon. We found it such a wonderful, family-friendly night and after a year of restrictions it was such a fantastic way to spend a Saturday evening – we’d definitely go again!
