I will be honest and say that I am not really one for visiting abroad. To be honest with you the thought of getting on an aeroplane scares me half to death so it’s not something I am in a rush to do anytime soon! That said, I do love a cheeky weekend away in the UK – in fact, I spent last weekend in London with Lucia from U Can’t Wear That and we had a great time!
As much as I pretend to dislike it, I am usually the chief organiser of these things – which as stressful as it always is, I probably wouldn’t have it any other way. The truth is that I stress if I don’t know what is happening and when it’s likely to be – so I would rather arrange it all myself than let someone else do it. I know I could trust nearly all of my friends to do a good job but I always prefer to do it myself.
One of the things I am passionate about when it comes to weekends away is making sure that everyone is catered for. I know that everyone has different needs when it comes to staying away from home so at times it can feel like it will be impossible to keep everyone happy.

I have wonderful friends of all shapes, sizes and abilities which means that seeking out accessible holiday accommodation is a must. When you’re away from home it’s important that you’re as comfortable as possible.
I try to do more when it comes to booking holidays – for example, I’ll always try to book ahead in bars and restaurants. That way there are no nasty surprises and I know that we’ll have enough seats for everyone – because who wants to spend more time standing around more than they need to.

I have a weekend away in Blackpool to plan at the moment, with some friends coming up from London to spend sometime at the seaside. I want to make sure that everyone has a great time so I am starting to plan now!
Tell me, what are your tips for booking a cheeky weekend away from home?
