To hire an electrician or to do it myself, that is the question. When it comes to completing small home improvement or home renovation tasks, I’m a big fan of doing them myself. It feels good to feel some sort of accomplishment or achievement for doing small home tasks – from putting up new shelves to changing door hinges. Plus, as I’m sure you know I love a good bargain, so if I can save on hiring a handyman I will. However, I think I draw the line at electrician services and think maybe I should hire an electrician.
Should I Hire an Electrician?
I’ve been pondering for quite some time as to whether I should hire a local electrician or if I should try and change the light switches myself. It’s probably best to be safe than sorry. If it is, you will have to use a registered electrician instead of doing the work yourself. As Electrical Safety First explains, “all electrical work in dwellings in England and Wales whether carried out professionally or as DIY, and whether or not the work is notifiable to a building control body, must meet the requirements of Part P of the Building Regulations.”
