Meeting Someone With Similar Interests – ]Dating is a funny old game and if you’re in the game a while, you’ll meet a variety of weird and wonderful people. Even the dates that don’t work out often give you a fun memory or a story to tell at parties so it isn’t all bad. If I could give people one piece of advice when it comes to dating it would be to meet people with similar interests. When you have something in common with someone from the off, it gives you something to talk about- which is always a good thing for a first date.

The good news is that whatever you’re into, there are ways to meet people who are into it too! For example, did you know there was a geek dating app? There are also apps for different religions, locations and other hobbies. Of course, if you’re into gaming dating someone who is also into gaming doesn’t mean that they’ll definitely be the person for you but having that in common
would help.

Gamer girls often like all elements of gaming so you could explore ideas around this for a first date. Of course, this all depends on local restrictions and lockdown rules but I think we’re all hoping that won’t be too much of an issue in 2021! Near me, in Portsmouth, there is a retro gaming museum where you can play all manner of old arcade and computer games. My partner and I visited
once and I’m not even massively into gaming but it was so much fun! Anything like this gives you plenty to talk and laugh about so well worth looking to see if there is something similar near you.
Failing that even a trip to the arcade could give you both a gaming hit and something to talk about. Of course, it doesn’t have to be all about gaming and you’re likely to have other interests in common too. To be honest, if you’re a believer of soul mates and twin flames, then where you go is unimportant 🙂 You’ll likely talk to the person you’re going to meet quite a lot in advance
so it is worth discussing the things you like and how you would like to spend your first date. It doesn’t have to be anything extensive- a pub near my flat when I lived in London had board games people could borrow while they had a drink, so even that could be fun.
Meeting New People
Whether you’re looking for someone into gaming or something different – meeting new people, especially for a first date can be nerve-wracking. If you have chatted before then this will help; you could even find a game online to play together first or simply video chat.
However, just remember that the whole experience is supposed to be fun. The person you’re meeting will be just as nervous and you don’t have to be anyone but yourself. So, put yourself out there, have fun and you never know, the next date you go on could be with the gamer boy of your dreams –exciting!
