Essential Items to Pack on Holiday – Holidays are meant to be a relaxing experience, but until you’re there – soaking up sun on the beach or discovering ancient artifacts – it can feel like there’s so much to organise. It helps if you streamline your outfits, reduce clutter, and plan far in advance. But where should you start to reduce that dreaded baggage allowance?

Travel Documents and Health Essentials
It might sound obvious to take your passport, yes, but other travel documents such as a copy of your visa, any required health certifications and a copy of any prescriptions can make travelling so much easier…and they’re easier to forget than you might think, especially if you’re used to travelling in the EU only. Different countries will require different documents so make sure to check their rules to avoid issues at customs. You – so an envelope might be handy here.

Comfort and Entertainment for the Journey
You’re going to want to make sure that that IPad is charged. Or, perhaps, you’re wanting to catch up on your sleep? Whatever you want to do, you’re going to want some travel pillows, eye masks, some noise-cancelling headphones and a layered-up outfit so you can adjust for temperature differences. Comfort can make even a long, bumpy flight that little bit more relaxing. Remember to download whatever film or TV show you’re wanting to binge on your device before you get to the airport – and some snacks if airplane food isn’t for you.

Climate-Appropriate Clothing and Accessories
As well as your layers for the flight itself, you’re going to have to really think about whether you actually need that dress or if it’s taking up valuable space that can be used for things you actually need: sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and that waterproof you’re hoping won’t be necessary. Make sure to prioritise items that can have a dual function and roll things up where you can. Packing cubes will be your new best friend.

Toiletries and Personal Care Items
Airline regulations must be met – so remember to drink your water bottle before you travel. Most accommodations only provide the basics, so you’re going to want to bring your travel-size toiletries, especially if you need anything specific. Top tip: if you don’t have enough space, you can always buy your SPF at your holiday destination.

When I was younger, I used to take so many clothes with me, and half of them I never wore whilst there!
