Whether you’re usually someone that jets off abroad in the summer months, or you’re used to staying in the UK you’ll be pleased to know that this country has some amazing places to visit – I’ve mostly only ever gone on holiday in the UK and I have had some great times. I thought I would share a couple of places with you.
Blackpool
I have had so many good days out and weekends away in Blackpool and I know I could go there hundreds of times more and still have a good time. Whether you want a messy night out or just some chilled beach scenery there is something for everyone. Even nearby Lytham offers up plenty to do – and has my favourite Toby Carvery I have ever visited there too! There’s a brilliant zoo, loads of arcades and of course The Pleasure Beach. Before you go have a look online to see which end you want to stay at because they all offer something different and by booking the right accommodation you can be right in the thick of it.
Brighton
We visited Brighton for a day last summer and I really loved it. The beach is beautiful and there were loads of pubs and places to choose from to eat which was great too. We enjoyed a walk on the beach with ice cream and of course a visit to the i360 which we loved and would love to do again. I visited Brighton a lot when I was younger as it’s such an easy train journey from London, but it’s definitely somewhere I would love to visit again. The beaches are great but we also visiting an amazing international supermarket and a tiny museum on the seafront, so certainly, plenty to do!
Birmingham
I thought I should suggest somewhere in the middle and without a beach for those that don’t want to travel too far north or south. I lived in Birmingham for a couple of years and there is always something fun going on to do. Broad Street in the city centre has so many different bars, clubs and restaurants – and the Travelodge there never struck me as expensive either if you’re looking for budget accommodation. There are museums and even Cadburys Chocolate World which I sadly never got around to visiting! But whatever you’re looking for, you’ll be able to find something that suits you while you’re there.
It’s just a coincidence that they all start with B, promise! There are definitely some places throughout the country that I haven’t been to but would love to explore – I hear Newcastle is a really cool place to visit and I have never really been down to Cornwall or Devon so those places are great too. I love booking a breakaway and usually use an online booking service to find hotels and cheap bed and breakfasts. I do tend to go for more budget places to stay because I’m not likely to be spending much time in the hotel anyway.
