I Carried A Watermelon – A Plus Size eBay Find!

July 23, 2015 by Debz Louise 9 Comments

A Plus Size eBay Find – I browse eBay all the time to see what is happening, what is for sale and, of course, to try and grab myself a bargain! Although plus size clothing has come on leaps and bounds over recent years it’s nice to browse eBay and pick up rarer items.

Here’s What I Would Have Spent – Voodoo Vixen

June 6, 2015 by Debz Louise 4 Comments

As you will probably know by now, I do a series of blog posts: Here’s What I Would Have Spent. I blog (along with other bloggers) about what I would have bought from them, if they stocked my size. This weekend I am going to be writing about Voodoo Vixen.

Thanks to Lady V London and Lady Voluptuous I have developed a real love of vintage style dresses. I feel it is a real shame that retailers haven’t clicked onto the fact that even those on the ‘upper’ end of plus size would like vintage clothing options.

Voodoo Vixen currently do up to a size 4XL which I believe equates to around a size 24. Don’t get me wrong, that’s great news but I want to see more!

So, Voodoo Vixen Here’s What I Would Have Spent, should you have wanted my money!

As you can see there are loads of dresses I would love to own! They really do have some fantastic designs and patterns. I can only hope that one day they extend their size range!

What Voodoo Vixen dresses do you have your eyes on?

Lady Voluptuous

I have blogged about Lady Voluptuous very many times, so I won’t talk too much about them. You can have a look at previous blog posts about them to learn all about the brand. [Read more…]

I Promise To Love You – A Plus Size Promise

May 29, 2015 by Debz Louise 4 Comments

Plus Size – A few weeks ago the magnificent Katt from A Curvy Cupcake put up a vlog about how she wanted this summer to be different for her and her body. In the video she promised herself that if she was warm she would show her arms without shame. This might seem like a small deal, but for many the implication is massive! [Read more…]

Feeling Blue at Prom – A Scarlett & Jo Review

May 28, 2015 by Debz Louise 6 Comments

I have written, tweeted, instagramed and swooned over Scarlett & Jo very many times before – and to be honest with you, the chances are that I will do it again. Not only do Scarlett & Jo offer up a number of choices when it comes to clothing, but they actually listen to their customers. For example, they recognise that not everyone wears dresses so they now offer skirts and have recently launched a number of ‘separates’ items – great news! What I also love about Scarlett & Jo is the support that they show bloggers – from dresses designed for them to random packages arriving on doorsteps ‘just because they’re a brand that really does what they can to please people! Of course, when you add on the fact that they offer pretty dresses up to a size 32, they’re winners in my heart!

So anyway, a few weeks ago they sent me this Navy 2 in 1 Prom Dress to try and it’s a winner. I love the fact that it is a navy material rather than black, which is fantastic! It gives it something a bit different to the norm.

It has the now infamous thick elasticated waist that lots of the dresses and skirts from Scarlett & Jo now have. I love this because it brings everything in and gives it a nice shape – winner in my book.  As all of their prom dresses do, it has a slight netting underneath the skirt too which gives it a lovely lift.

The sizing is great and the top part of the dress being a thick, almost elasticated type material gives everything a really nice shape and feel. I wore this out to a local carnival the other day and it was comfortable to wear for the whole day. On that occasion, I wore it with leggings, so it works as a dressed-down look too!

Do you own anything from Scarlett & Jo? What are your favourite pieces?

P.S I have dreams of a 2 in 1 prom dress in a cherry print – how cute would that be?

I was lucky enough to be gifted some items in this post and I am very grateful, but I am always open and honest in my reviews!

Oh No, That’s Far Too Small – A Topsy Curvy Review

May 27, 2015 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

Two blogs in a day – I’m on a roll, are you proud?

Another day, another blog post on Topsy Curvy! These girls really can do no wrong in my eyes. They’re a brand that really listen and they’re constantly expanding and offering more.

I was lucky enough to hang out with the gorgeous trio at The Curvy Convention a few weeks ago – where they featured on the catwalk and had a stall there too!

I had my eye on this dress on their rail and asked what sizes they had with them. The largest they had left (yes they sold lots) was a 20, so I was, of course, a bit disappointed. However, Jo knows me well and told me to try it on anyway. Now, she knows me and she knows her brand, but I was not convinced.

Despite believing it would have no chance of fitting, I put it on and it fit like a glove. The dress is designed to be more of a swing style but I am not a fan of swing dresses on my body so this suited me perfectly. I couldn’t believe it  –  a size 20 dress on my body! (I think they have since rejigged the sizing on this one so speak to them before you order).

I love the pattern of this dress and the fact that it is long sleeved. It makes it a really unusual piece and something that I would wear again and again. I wore this with plain black leggings and shoes just for a day around the shops but you could easily style it much differently if you wanted to.

The Topsy Curvy girls are great at describing how things fit on their Facebook page as well as showing photos of people with different body shapes and sizes wearing their items, which makes the online shopping experience much easier!

That said, I do want to make a trip to their shop, it looks like it would be so much fun!

Great Flaming Flamingos – A Lady Voluptuous Review!

May 22, 2015 by Debz Louise 5 Comments

A Lady Voluptuous Review – I don’t want to talk too much about Lady V London and their sister brand Lady Voluptuous, because I have swooned over them on many a blog post previously. If you haven’t browsed their selection then I suggest you do, if you’re between a size 16 and 32, they will have something you’ll love I’m sure. (Lady V London actually do much smaller sizes too, yay for inclusive brands). [Read more…]
