July 25, 2022 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

Let’s set the scene… You have a business selling products online. It has been doing great and now you’re thinking of taking it to the next level – redesigning the website and migrating it to a platform that will grow with your business. So, you’ve been recommended Magento. The person that recommended Magento couldn’t be more right but the question now is… what is Magento? And how to go about choosing the right people for the job?

What is Magento?

As London Magento agency, Ad Lab explains, Magento is an open-source platform owned by Adobe designed for eCommerce websites, from small start-ups to large enterprises. There are two versions of Magento: Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce. Magento Open Source is the free version of Magento whilst Adobe Commerce is the paid version.

“Adobe Commerce has powerful tools to let you confidently launch, manage and scale your business, including the ability to host multiple instances on one platform and cloud deployment, while native integrations with Adobe products […] help take personalisation to the next level.” Explain Adobe on their website.

How to choose the right Magento agency?

Look at case studies.

People say “an image is worth a thousand words” and I feel like the same applies to this. Seeing someone’s most recent work will reflect some of their skills and showcase the results you will be able to achieve. At the end of the day, one of the most important factors in hiring the right agency is “Can they do the job?”. Most often than not, their recent work will give you the insight to be able to answer this question.

Speak to current clients.

Don’t settle for testimonials on websites, speak to some of their current clients for some honest feedback. Forbes advises determining the agency’s credibility and experience. “Ask for client references, including one from an account that did not go so well. All agencies have had engagements that did not go so well, and it’s important to get an idea of how they dealt with them in addition to recommendations from the good ones.” They recommend.

Hunt the specialists.

Many people may say that they can do this or that but do they truly have the skills necessary? A Magento agency, such as Ad Lab, has a team of certified Magento developers who know Magento like the palm of their hand. So, you know your Magento store will be in safe hands! Plus, as She Might Be Loved comments “A Magento agency will have multiple specialists who will help you during all stages of your Magento website, from design to marketing all the way to expanding to different markets.”
