What To Buy Someone Who Has Everything?

February 27, 2019 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

I am someone that really enjoys buying gifts for my loved ones. I don’t always have the budget to be able to splash out however, I love shopping around and looking for something that someone would like. For me, when it comes to presents it isn’t ever about the price tag attached it to, but more about how it suits the person and how much thought has gone into it.

As a grown-up, I find it much harder to buy presents for people because you tend to find that the things people want, they have bought for themselves. This can make it hard to know what to buy, especially when it seems like people already have everything they need.
The Gifts That Keep on Giving

For me, practical gifts are a great choice because they can really help someone out. I know sometimes these can be seen as less glamorous than more extravagant gifts but if you can buy something that someone can really make use of, all the better in my opinion.

I was looking for Mother’s Day gifts last weekend, as I know the day is fast approaching. I came across AttaVanti, who have some gorgeous real leather handbags on their website. Straight away this struck me as something that would make a great gift – they look amazing, the price tag is decent and it’s something that I know my mum would make great use of!
This is one that I saw straight away and loved because it looks great but is something that could be used everyday, which makes it even better!

I will be honest, such a glamorous bag is a little out of my price range but if I could ever splash out on a bag for someone else  me, something like this would be right up my street!
Experience Days
Another thing I am massively into when it comes to gifts is buying people experiences. Loads of websites like Buy a Gift and Groupon have options where you can buy vouchers for afternoon tea or days at the spa. I think these give people the ideal opportunity to spoil themselves, and if I am lucky they might invite me along – so it’s really a win-win!
The great thing about buying experiences as a gift is that there are so many to choose from, so whatever you think a person might like, you can give them something that suits!
What would you buy someone who has everything?

Oil Painting Reproduction of Famous Nude Artwork

January 29, 2019 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

The art world is no stranger to nudity. A lot of the world’s famed artists have at one time or the other created nude pieces, some of which are now celebrated as master pieces. The truth is that according to history, a lot of these paintings were seriously frowned on at the time they were painted. Some of the artists who we today celebrate for these painting may not have actually received such high praise when they painted them. You can read some of their history here.

It will never be clear why these artists painted these nude works though some explanations have been attempted by experts. Whatever their reasons, the fact remains that these paintings are famous today and people are ready to part with millions of dollars to own any of them that comes into the market.

Examples of Famous Nude Artwork

There are a number of nude artworks that have attained celebrity status. These are artwork that many people will never get to see physically but will still know a lot about. Here is a list of some of these paintings:
The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli painted in the 1480s. It is currently in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.

Venus and the Lute Player by Titian, the Venetian renaissance painter between 1565 and 1570. It is said that he did not complete this painting before dying and that there exist two versions of the painting. One version which is the more complete one is in Cambridge while a second version said to be in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is largely incomplete.

Adam and Eve by Albrecht Dürer, the German Renaissance artist. This was painted around 1507 and is currently located at ‎Museo del Prado, Madrid, Spain.

Reclining Nymph painted by Lucas Cranach the Elder in 1518 in Germany. It is currently located at Museum der Bildenden Kunste, Leipzig, Germany.

Venus painted by Lucas Cranach the Elder in 1532 in Germany. Its current location is Städel, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The Fall by Hugo van der Goes between 1467–1468. It is currently located at Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria.

There are a lot other of these master pieces that we can list. However, we will make do with these for now.

How to Own a Famous Nude artwork

Anyone who has any little idea about famous artwork knows that they are beyond expensive. These famous nude paintings are no exception, with some of them costing millions of dollars. Given that these paintings cost more than an arm and a leg, it is practically impossible for most rich persons to own them how much more the average Joe.

A lot of times, even with your money ready to purchase them, you won’t find them for sale. This further increases their value.

Thankfully, oil painting reproductions of these famous artworks have now offered everyone an opportunity to own any of these that catches their fancy without parting with a fortune.

What is Oil Painting Reproduction?

According to a simple definition of oil painting as given here – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oil_painting_reproduction – oil painting reproduction is the copying of an original oil painting by another artist. In most cases, there is only one original of any of these masterpieces which means that only one person can own any of the originals. In a lot of other cases, no one person owns any of the originals as they are only displayed at museums.

With a reproduction, a top-quality artist paints these famous painting, making them available for far less. These reproductions are by no means low quality paintings. If anything, given the advancement that has been made in art and technology, it is possible to achieve higher quality reproductions of these paintings, but that is not the objective.

What usually differentiates a good reproduction from the original is the fact that the reproduction is sold as a reproduction even though it can easily pass as the original. A reproduction can also be scaled up or down to give you any size of the painting you desire.

Choosing an Artist for an Oil Painting Reproduction Job

The quality of an oil painting reproduction is dependent totally on the skill and experience of the artist handling the job. It is therefore important that you choose an artist that has the ability to deliver the best quality of reproduction.

Finding such artists has become much easier with companies such as 1startgallery.com. These art companies employ the best artists to handle hundreds and even thousands of different oil paint reproduction jobs.

All you need to do is either browse through their collection of famous paintings or send them a sample of your own and they will reproduce it for you perfectly. You also get to choose the size in which you want the painting. Best of all, for as little as $305, you can own any of the famous nude paintings you’ve only admired from a distance.

Now you have no reason not to satisfy your artistic desires.

Ever Considered Laser Tattoo Removal?

November 15, 2018 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

I can still remember vividly getting my first tattoo. I lived in Morecambe and decided to get a tattoo without telling anyone. It’s a tiny one on my right foot that reads “Be-You-Tiful”. I had thought about getting a tattoo for ages and ages, but I could never ever decide what to get. I saw this saying online one day and it was like a lightbulb moment  – I knew I had to get it!. So, I simply went and got it one day without telling anyone my plans.

The man in the shop told me that ink on your foot is one of the most painful, so I was dreading it but actually, it wasn’t too bad at all. I’ve had 12 tattoos since, so I guess it couldn’t have been that bad.

Deciding on a Tattoo

Everyone has different reasons for getting tattooed and different ways of deciding what they want. With the exception of a cupcake tattoo and a giant lollipop mine all mean something to me and that was something that I was really passionate about. Although I know that something like city tattoo removal at Pulse Light Clinic is an option but it wasn’t something that I wanted to keep in mind when choosing a tattoo, I wanted it to be something I would love forever.

When Things Go Wrong

That said, I have given consideration to what would happen if I changed my mind about any of the pieces I have had. I recently came across Pulse Light Clinic in London who offer laser tattoo removal for those that need it. They have a couple of clinics in Central London and the examples of their work I have seen it really looks like an amazing procedure! It fades the tattoos enough to be able to have any sort of cover-up you want; which is great news!

Have you ever had a tattoo you regret? Would you consider getting it removed?

Looking After Your Car In The Winter Months

November 8, 2018 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

If you are a car owner, then you’ll probably already be aware of the importance of looking after your car. Car maintenance is important for ensuring that your car actually goes when you need it to, but also for making sure that you and any passengers are as safe as possible while on your journey.

Checking Your Car

Before you set out on a long journey, make sure you check things like oil and water to ensure that you have enough. It’s also a sensible idea to check that you have enough petrol and that all of the lights around your car work. The last thing you want to do is run out of petrol or have a silly problem with the car cause you an unnecessary delay. By checking these things beforehand, you can avoid larger problems later down the line.

One thing that many people overlook in the winter months is their air conditioning. It is easy to assume that the air conditioning for your car is about keeping the car cool, however, it also used for heating – so you’ll want to get this checked to make sure your car is kept cosy throughout the colder months.

Calling In The Experts

It is really important that your car is serviced by an expert on a regular basis too. Getting things like wheel tracking, engine performance and general running of your car helps to ensure your car is healthy and will continue to run efficiently for as long as possible. Maintain your vehicle for better and safer performance by availing car servicing in Northampton from Calmac Tyres Autocentre. Make sure they check the health of any spare tyres you have too!

Be Prepared

You can do all of the preparation possible, but you should also ensure that you’re well equipped should things not go to plan. It’s a good idea to ensure that you have some essential items in your car boot – a bottle of water, blankets, a warning triangle and a spare can of petrol are the minimum items I would recommend. You could also pack some cereal bars and other food items if you’re driving through somewhere rural.

Getting Ready

Ask yourself, is your car ready for winter? If not, it’s a good idea to get it serviced and looked at now- so you can be sure you’re as ready as possible for the driving conditions the harsh winter months can bring!

Make your car Roadworthy this Winter

October 8, 2018 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

As I am sat here, watching X Factor with a blanket on the sofa, there can be no denying that winter is on its way! In fact, in 3 months’ time we’ll be over a week into 2019 – how is that even possible? As I am sure most of you know, I am a summer person – so the cold days and dark evenings are not my friend at all.

One of the things I hate about the cold weather is that you can’t just leave the house. In summer I can put on a pair of leggings, a dress and flip flops and I’m good to go – winter is all about layers, being warm and keeping dry, it’s just a massive hassle!

Every season we pay attention to ourselves and look after how we could adapt to our environment. Little or no heed is paid to our belongings especially one of the most important being our mode of transport – our vehicles!

Safety First

Of course, as well as worrying about being cold, winter can be pretty dangerous too! No one wants to slip on the ice, or have tyres struggling on a snowy road. Whether you’re walking someone, or driving a vehicle, it really is important to make sure you take as many precautions as possible to make sure that everyone stays safe!

During winter season driving becomes a mission in its self. Let’s just not get into the feeling of getting yourself out there clearing up the snow from you to head to work or to drop your kids off early morning.

It is really important to assure safety for yourself and your passengers as the roads tend to get slippery in winters- Causing accidents.

Along with maintaining your speed, make sure that your tyres are roadworthy. Your car tyres should be fit enough to ensure safe and smoother driving conditions.

Preparing Everything As well as fashion, you need to think about other ways to be prepared for the cold weather. For example, if you have a car then you’ll definitely want to take better care of it in the winter. I don’t even just mean when it’s snowy and you want to drive saver, I mean simply keeping your vehicle happier in colder climates.

One of the best things you can do is make sure your car service and maintenance is up to date. As well as getting a mechanic to keep an eye on your vehicle, it is a good idea to regularly check things such as oil and water. In fact, it wouldn’t harm you on how to keep an eye on things such as tyre pressure too!

Never Too Much

You can never really do too many safety checks on a car, after all during winter it is going to be putting up with some pretty grueling conditions. It is far better to do many safety checks than it is to put lives a risk by driving a potentially dangerous car in snowy, icy, wintery conditions.
Get brakes checked, so you know they’re going to be reliable when breaking on icy roads. Check tyres so you know they can grip the road when it’s snowy, and check oil to make sure your car is in the best possible position to drive!

Check for your oils so that you don’t go through the hassle of breakdowns and stopping your car midway to check or call for help that may cause inconvenience and stress you out – hence take precautionary measures! Of course, it goes without saying that checking brakes is essential, they need to be working correctly to ensure that you can drive safely and securely!

Calling in the Experts

Realistically, not everyone is going to have the skills, time or patience to do this – so if that is the case, it’s time to call in the experts. Have a look at local places that can help and for your car choose car servicing by Ossett Tyre House in Dewsbury or someone local to yourself.

What tips would you give a car driver?
