Dress Comfortably for Christmas Parties – With the holidays just around the corner, the chances are you have a couple of social occasions to attend. Whether it’s drinks with friends, your works Christmas party or getting together with family for lunch this time of year tends to make us a little more social. As a plus-size person it is easy to assume your Christmas fashion choices are limited; but here are 3 ways to dress comfortably for Christmas parties.
Dress Comfortably for Christmas Parties
Wear Something You Love
This time of year is all about glitz, glamour and sparkles; but if that isn’t your bag then don’t worry – just wear something that you love. Whilst I love a little sparkle these days I am all about comfort and when it comes to plus-size partywear that is no exception. Yours Clothing recently sent me this glitter frill sleeve dress and I have to say – it’s so comfortable. Unlike some sparkly dresses, the inside is lined which means you don’t get any scratchy material irritating your skin which is always a good thing. I got my usual size and I would say it’s generous, you could size down but I quite like the floaty, spacious feeling of it so I would stick with the size I have.

Think About Shoes
One thing you’ll notice about me is that I’m always wearing trainers – and that is another way that I like to be comfortable. Occasionally I’ll wear more of a going-out style shoe but gone are the days of squeezing my feet into shoes that are too small and feeling uncomfortable all night. If I was to wear this dress to a party I would probably go for a darker style of trainer but without a doubt, comfort would still be the order of the day.

Don’t Pressure Yourself
Going out at any time of the year can mean that we put more pressure on ourselves to look a certain way or wear a certain style of clothing. However, the truth is that getting out there and enjoying ourselves is much more important than what we look at and what we have on our bodies. So, don’t put this added pressure on yourself instead concentrate on getting out there and having fun!
If you have any tips on how to dress comfortably for Christmas parties I’d love to hear them
