Heavenly Dresses From Hell Bunny

July 24, 2017 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

Hell Bunny are one of those brands that I have always lusted over, but also known they are not for me. Their brand previously went to around a size 24, but I always heard horror stories about how they came up quite small, and therefore were not a brand that would ever work for me.

Then a couple of weeks ago I was browsing Yours Clothing and came across a selection of Hell Bunny dresses UP TO A SIZE 32! I immediately ordered one of next day delivery and tweeted my excitement. At the time a few people tweeted to say that previously the brand had come up small and they had struggled even when sizing up – so when I looked and saw the dress I had chosen had no stretch I was a bit disappointed.

And then the next day – THIS ARRIVED!

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this dress. The pockets, the bows, the sleeves, the detail – it’s like nothing  have seen in a size 32 before and I was over the moon. The straps were a little bit long and I had to pin them, but apart from that I love it.

I love how much material the skirt has for that proper fluffy affect that these dresses deserve. Hell Bunny are by no means the cheapest brand you’ll come across but I’ll definitely be treating myself to more of their dresses.

…And when they look this good – it’s easy to see why!

The Essential Grooming Products For Surviving Summer

June 14, 2017 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

There’s nothing quite like waking up on a summer morning to glorious sunshine and the promise of a spectacular day.

Maybe it’s the sudden burst of Vitamin D, but everyone just seems to be in a better mood.
Al fresco BBQs, strolls around the park and maybe a cheeky wee pitstop at a beer garden – there’s definitely lots to keep everyone smiling.
But the downside of the sweltering heat and outdoor festivities – clammy skin, sunburn, frizzy locks – isn’t quite so much fun.

With that in mind, here are a few essential grooming products that’ll see you stylishly and comfortably through even the hottest days this summer. Check them out.

#1: a protective moisturiser

Whilst you should hopefully be well versed in regularly slathering your shoulders, arms and other exposed body parts with sun cream, remembering to do the same with your face (especially if you wear makeup) isn’t always so easy.

Before you leave the house and before you start applying any foundation, slap on a healthy layer of a facial moisturiser containing SPF (Dream Screen from Benefit offers factor 45 protection and won’t leave your skin feeling greasy).

#2: salon professional styling tools
Want picture-perfect beachy waves capable of surviving an afternoon in the blazing heat without going flat and limp? Stars like Blake Lively may make it look totally natural, but it’s a hairdo that requires some serious styling tools and plenty of patience to achieve.

Shop the Mark Hill range to nab yourself a salon professional hair wand at a budget-friendly price – it’ll create curls and ringlets with the staying power to last all day.

#3: waterproof mascara

All it takes is one cramped, hectic bus journey on a hot morning to have all the makeup that you spent so long carefully applying running down your face.

That’s why, if you make only one beauty product substitution this summer, it should definitely be swapping to waterproof mascara. Whether you’re heading to the office for work or enjoying a day of sunbathing, it’ll stay perfectly in place throughout.

#4: a hydrating face mask

A hydrating face mask is the perfect way to get your skin feeling soft and pain-free after overdoing it in the sun.

You can make your own at home but, if that’s too much hassle for you, you won’t beat Garnier’s Moisture Bomb tissue mask. At only a couple of pounds from Feel Unique, it won’t break the bank either.

#5: a mattifying face powder

Keep that shine at bay by carrying a mattifying face powder in your bag throughout summer. It takes barely a minute to pat some on, but it’ll totally transform your makeup from tired and sweaty to fresh and flawless.
Matte Maker Powder from Maybelline is one of the cheapest available, plus it also gives a good amount of coverage.

What are your summer grooming essentials?

Gothic Summer Vibes

June 12, 2017 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

It’s getting to that time of year where I am reminded that I love a good old maxi dress. I mean don’t get me wrong, leggings and a dress are fantastic and I will always be a fan but there is something about a flowy maxi dress that makes me feel great. When it comes to summer, I love being able to throw on a dress with a pair of flip flops and just leave the house.

The lovely people at Simply Be sent me this dress earlier this week and I really love it! I wore it out to lunch the other day and sat in the sunshine and it was perfect. It’s elasticated under the bust which means that it fits really nice – the skirt is flowy as well which is really nice. It is super long on me however I am only 5’2, so it could work well on someone taller too!

I love the lace affect around the shoulders and think this makes it so much nicer than just a plain black maxi dress. I don’t actually own many plain clothes as I am much more a fan of colour but I like this, because the lace adds a little dimension to it.

Simply Be were kind enough to send this so I could try it for size, as I have had nightmares with their sizing coming up small. I have to say that this could not have fit better and I really hope it reflects in the rest of the seasons items!

What do you think you’ll be wearing this summer?

The Price of Petrol and Other Things To Consider as a Driver!

June 12, 2017 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

Over recent months I
have started to think about the possibility of learning to drive. I had a few
lessons back when I was 20 but nothing since then – I do worry if I may be too
old to learn, but I guess you never know unless you try!

For me, I think
learning to drive could be a good thing. Since relocating to Birmingham I am
around 2
hours from my family for example, so I have to rely on trains and
public transport to get me there when I want to visit. It is the same for
attending blogger events and visiting friends. I think it might be nice to have
the freedom to come and go when I please, rather than having to load up Google
maps and see when the next bus is and building my schedule around this.

One of the things I
have given a lot of thought to since considering whether learning to drive is
for me, is the price of petrol. I know from talking to friends and family that
the price of petrol is a sticking point for many people – as the price has
increased so much over recent years, with apparently not much more to show for
it.

Yes, you could say
that the look and feel of petrol stations has changed over many years – we have
24 hour coffee machines and the chance to get hot food when you visit, but is
that really worth the price of extra petrol? I guess that is a matter of opinion!

You might
not think about petrol stations when you consider look at forum insurance brokers websites but
they do have a lot to help with your health and safety when you are driving.
For example, at most petrol stations you can check your tires and buy oil to
top up the engine if it is needed. We can do so much more than pop in fill up
our cars with petrol and leave again.

What would
you say you benefit most from when it comes to petrol stations? Me personally I
love being able to pop in and get a nice cold drink and a magazine for my journey
but I am sure most of you benefit from so much more!

Vaping: Is It More Than A Trend?

May 17, 2017 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

When it comes to trends, many of us are used to them coming and go; especially as fashion lovers! For example we’ve seen everyone wanting to wear converse trainers with oversize baggy jeans or shell suits day in, day out. They are trends we wouldn’t look twice at now a days, but in the past they were band on trend and everyone wanted to wear them.

Over recently months we have seen vaping become more popular and it is easy to assume that it could just be another passing trend, but it really doesn’t seem to be! Unlike fast fashion where trends do come and go, vaping is something practical which means it has real staying power.

We’re a nation of people who are well aware that smoking is not one of the best habits we can have; and while I’m for everyone making their own health choices it’s good to know there are options to help people give up, should they need/want to!

The good think about vaping is that websites such as www.simplyeliquid.co.uk allow people to pick from a various flavours and styles, which means that there is something for everyone. This will also allow the trend to stay around, as people mix it up and experiment with different things!

Have you tried vaping?

3 Ways To Improve Your Credit Score

May 14, 2017 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

If you’re anything like me, then the chances are your credit score is less than perfect. I was definitely too frivolous with money when I was younger, which has affected me as an adult. In the past the need for a new dress or a night out was strong and I did go for getting money in various ways , which has resulted in a dented credit score.

However lately, now that I am more of a grown-up I am starting to look at ways to improve this – and luckily there are different ways to do this!

Credit Card

One great way to do this is to apply for a credit card – although you have to max sure you resist the temptation to go shopping. When you get a card, make small spends on this and then pay off the balance each month. This shows that you are responsible with money and gets reported back to your credit file.

Take Out a Loan

In a similar way you can take out a loan and make the payments this way. Of course, it is important that you don’t borrow more than you can afford to pay. Ensure that you use a responsible lender such as Cash Lady as then you know you are borrowing from a reputable firm.

Don’t Take Out Too Much

Don’t be tempted to apply for lots of credit, particularity if you start to get turned down for credit. Each application you make for credit shows on your file and this can have a detrimental affect on your credit file in general

What would you do to improve your credit?

I Didn’t Read The Memo: Fat Girls & Stripes

May 12, 2017 by Debz Louise Leave a Comment

Apparently a few years ago, a memo was sent out to say that fat girls shouldn’t wear stripes. SHOCK HORROR they apparently aren’t flattering at all and you should always dress to look smaller – who knew?!

I ‘unfortunately’ missed this memo and have been gleefully wearing whatever I wanted, without worrying about what it did to my body shape. This week while at my parents I needed to buy some emergency leggings – and as Yours Clothing do next day delivery I opted to use them! Now, when you’re buying just leggings and paying £7 for delivery, it seems rude to not at least browse the sale section before you check out to see what is there.

Bag from ASOS. Shoes from Just Fab

I came across this really nice knitted tunic at just under £12 and had to get it. I actually sized up in this because I wanted the oversize look and it was nice to be shopping with a brand where I could actually do this – however I probably didn’t need to as it is a bit ‘too’ big, I still really like it though!

I love the length (bear in mind I am short) and the fact it looks nice but is still so easy to just throw on and wear out. I wore this to dinner with my parents and it was nice to be sat comfy and cosy, without worrying about looking drab.

I really want a wardrobe with more of these easy to wear pieces – any recommendations?
