Sunday Stripes

Sunday Stripes – A few weekends ago I was invited out for a Sunday carvery with a friend of mine and jumped at the chance. Sunday dinner is without a doubt my favourite meal in the world, so being able to do this in a countryside pub sounded perfect! Luckily a few days beforehand the lovely lot at Lovedrobe had sent me this beaut of a dress so I knew exactly what I wanted to wear.

Surviving Winter

Have you got snow? Do you love it? I’m going to be a right party pooper here and say that I do not like snow at all! I can admit that it is sometimes nice to look out from the warmth of your own home, but actually getting out and about when the weather is cold, wet and icy is not my cup of tea at all!


However, what I am hating most about this type of year is this stupid “winter virus” that is going around. Have you had it? Know someone who has? 


Last week I spent 2 days pretty much wanting to do nothing but sleep – I figured I was just a bit run down and needed to catch up on sleep! However then one day I woke up with a very sore throat and a cough, which hasn’t gone away since! I do feel a bit coldy, but in general it’s mostly this annoying cough that is the biggest pain, I am pretty sure my work colleagues would agree with you!


The other night I actually laid awake with earache, which felt strange because that always strikes me as more of something that children suffer with. In desperation I started to Google for help and ideas and stumbled across The Independent Pharmacy.


I hadn’t actually realised that it was so easy to get medicines and prescriptions online, but what a really good idea!? I know that personally, sometimes I am just too busy to go to an actual shop and buy stuff – which is probably why my online shopping habit has increased so steadily. So the fact that you can possibly get medicines online is a really good idea!





They have loads of sections for general health and beauty too, so you are able to get all sorts of items in one place – and they deliver it to your door, which always works well for me!


I’ve spent my week off dosed up on cold and flu tablets and drinking cough mixture like its going out of fashion, so I am hoping the end is in sight for this illness.

Avoiding Holiday Mishaps

Window Shopping with Boohoo

One of my
favourite January hobbies is window shopping online. After December you would
think that I would be all shopped out, but I have to say that the January sales
get me a bit excited. I am a proper bargain hunter (I blame my dad!) and love
it when I can save some money – so when sales are coming at me left, right and
centre I have to take advantage.
The other
day I was browsing the Boohoo Plus Size range and I have to say I was a little surprised,
but very happy to see that they have extended their sizing. A couple of years
ago when Boohoo Plus launched they went up to a size 24 – the brand were lovely
enough to send me a few items that I managed to work in order to fit me.
However as I am sure anyone who wears clothes they ‘force’ to fit, they often
don’t feel as comfortable to wear as they would if you were wearing your actual
size.
When I saw
that Boohoo had a handful of items it a size 26 and a size 28 I was really
happy. Even if those sizes still don’t technically cover what I need, it’s
really nice to see a brand that actually listen to feedback. I understand that
launching a plus size range isn’t always easy so you have to dip your toe in
the water a little in order to understand what your customer base wants and
what they’ll buy. I can only hope that Boohoo see their larger sizes start to
sell and extend in further. Of course, it could also mean that other brands pay
attention to this extension in sizes and start to follow suit – 2017 is off to
a good start already!

Being by
money-saving self, I am always on the lookout for voucher codes and ways to
save money. I have to say as clothing brands good Boohoo are really good eggs
with this, because they often have different ones to choose from. One of my
favourite websites at the moment is My Favourite Voucher Codes as they seem to
have loads to choose from. What I like about the site is that different brands
have different pages, so finding the exact voucher code you want is easy – just

One of the things I like about Boohoo is that they have loads of
different styles outside of what normal plus size brands. We all know that
brands offer lots of skater dresses, cold shoulder tops and vintage skirts.
These are all lovely and some of my favourite items – however I also appreciate
the need for alternative looks so that there are styles for everyone. I love that
brands like Boohoo offer yet another choice for everyone.

Thinking About Home Improvements

Although I am in a house share at the moment, I have plans later on in the year to get my own place – so of course, I am already thinking about home improvement and what I would do in my own place. I have made my room lovely and homely and I am really happy there, but there is nothing quite like having your own place to do what you want with it.
I want my home to be unique and quirky – I am a big fan of art on the walls, especially body positive stuff. I love having loads of photos around too, a reminder of fun times I have had which is always a good thing. I have two big canvas’ in my room at the moment and I would definitely love to have more should the time arise.
One of the things I love most about being a blogger is how I get introduced to lots of creative people. I know there are lots of people out there that offer lots of different things when it comes to home decor, arts and crafts and more. I would definitely plan to invest in lots of pieces like this – I think supporting a small business would be fantastic and I’ll get something lovely and unique for my home which is always a good thing!
Your home space is really important and it’s essential that you make sure it’s something that’s personal to you. I know that outside of work a majority of my time is spent at home, often on my own so it’s really important that it’s a space that you are happy and comfortable with.
It doesn’t matter about home decor fashions or what is on trend, go for something that you love instead – you’re the one that matters!
