How To Get To Know Someone Online I know I’m on a bit of a roll about online dating today, but I guess I am just feeling the love! In 3 weeks I’ll have lived in Hampshire, with my boyfriend for 2 years – 2 WHOLE YEARS! I’m actually quite proud that we’re here and I have never had a relationship like it. I know that being with another person isn’t the be-all and end-all, and certainly, it has no reflection on your worth as a person – but for me, it’s something that has been quite nice, so I wanted to share a few tips that worked for me.
Don’t Rush Things
Don’t just rush into meeting someone if you think it’s right after a few messages – I mean, there is nothing wrong with this approach if you feel confident enough to do so. The problem with this is that you won’t really know the person so it can be hard to start a conversation or keep the chatter going – after all, how do you know what they would like to talk about? If you’re
someone who is good at conversation then this method can work, otherwise, I would recommend spending time getting to know the person you’ve met on the Derbyshire Dating Site you’re on, or whichever site you have chosen.
If It Isn’t Right, It Isn’t Right
When you’re lacking confidence, you can overlook signs that things just aren’t right and go ahead and meet someone anyway. There isn’t anything wrong with this, but you will end up wasting a few hours of your day for no reason. So, just a reminder that YOU ARE AWESOME! You deserve someone that makes you feel awesome and anything less than that just isn’t with pursuing. Make sure someone is worth putting effort into before you start to put in any work to get to know them.
Lots of Communication
The best way to get to know someone is through conversation. As I said in my last post, my boyfriend and I sent lots of random stuff on Whatsapp before we met – songs we were listening to on YouTube, photos of our dinner (mostly me) and videos of what we were up to – little video diaries sometimes even. It was a great way to see him, get to know his mannerisms and feel like I
really knew him before we met up. It gave me much more confidence when we did meet because it felt like I was meeting up with a friend rather than a complete stranger, which meant none of the date was awkward.
Anyway, that’s my last dating post of the day, just a reminder that whether you choose to date and who you choose to date is always a personal decision and you should do what makes your heart happy.
